Looks like Polypony are full steam ahead with Gran Turismo 6, then, with Bathurst on the cards.
A YouTube video (of a conversion) is doing the rounds – here – with the video taker getting the info from the developers.
“I study at the Mt. Panorama Motorsport Training centre Bathurst and can tell you that a large team from Polyphony are currently at the track mapping it out and getting all measurements for a new game,” he says.
“They have been there since Monday and we were wondering what they were doing, but found out yesterday who they were and what they were doing because track management told us as their helicopter was going to be landing next to us during the day.”
“I’m assuming they will be there for a few more days.”
Presumably this new game will be for PS4 – or, hopefully, PS Vita.

GT5 was a massive disappointment in my eyes. It got boring quickly as it was practically the same as GT4 instead I was forced to wait forever for it.

What exactly were you expecting though. As a sim racer there isn’t much it can do. Just improve graphics, number of cars/track etc and physics. It can’t really add any new gameplay mechanics

I was expecting the best racing game ever and it simply wasn’t. All of it just felt sub-par not to mention the ridiculous load/install times.

My thoughts exactly Gazza. Of course it is coming, and if it features Bathurst than that will be epic. BUT it is no where even near confirmation until Sony actually, you know, confirm it.
This someone who sounds like he is from Japan, who clearly isn’t too hot with English. Even the person filming doesn’t take it as confirmation. Rumor & Speculation.

Sensible money would be on a Vita version of Gran Turismo in my opinion!

Hopefully now it’s more or less outed, Polyphony will be forthcoming with a few solid details. I’d halve the car count for a bit more attention in other parts of the game. I mean does any driving game really need 50 variants of the Skyline?

Having spent part of my childhood living in Bathurst I can safely say – FUCK YEAH!
GT having Spa, the Ring and Bathurst is a major win for motorsport fans! My top three tracks are now in one place, and in my favourite racing sim.
