Lost Planet 3 Officially Announced by Capcom

This morning’s leak has just been made official by Capcom over at their Captivate event. Lost Planet 3 is indeed on the way, scheduled for a 2013 release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The game will feature a return to E.D.N III, with an ever changing climate changing the gameplay and a dynamic battlefield. You’ll play as Jim, a blue collar worker, in a mixture of first and third person viewpoints, utilising a “rig” with special tools to help in your fight against the Akrid.

  1. Odd we never meet any pleasent looking aliens who want to kill you. It’s always fangs and multiple eyes.

Hey devs, there’s an idea – a shooter with smiling old ladies in wheelchairs, cuddly bunnies and happy postmen – all of whome want to kill you.

    • So that is what happened to you at the weekend. What did you do this time to make them try to murder you? ;)

    • Having a game based in Croydon does not sound like a good idea to me.

  2. I enjoyed LP1, never tried LP2.
This could be good, but the aliens look a bit plasticky and shiny from those screens…

  3. Passed on the first two. Strangely I’m still hugely interested in this.

  4. giant enemy crab, attack its weak point for massive damage.

yay, i got that one in first.

  5. Trying to play through LP2 at the moment. It’s an unbelievably disjointed experience that in some regards feels very last gen what with the tiny mission areas that detract from any sense of place or scale. Some good mechanics and the mecha are fun, but it’s a boring chore when it gets away from the starship troopers vibe and insists we go shoot idiot people.
