We all like to get plenty of playtime for our money, don’t we? Well, according to Resident Evil 6’s Game Director, you’ll get “around 30 hours” out of the upcoming action horror sequel. That’s around three times the length of Resident Evil 5.
Eiichiro Sasaki let slip the details in a talk with NowGamer at Capcom’s Captivate event last week. The player will play through individual story modes for three characters which, although separate, will overlap and eventually lead to the same place.
In terms of length, each character’s story is a little bit less than RE5 but when you combine them together you’re getting something that is much longer. While each character’s story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap. They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don’t have to play them all, of course.
Sasaki has admitted a love for The Walking Dead and Dead Space, which sounds like a very good starting point for getting Resident Evil back to its best.

ohhhhh, how interesting! very interesting with 30 hours of campaign gameplay over 3 different characters, whose paths will cross over one another at points in the campaign… hopefully less action and more horror and co-op play! this game cannot be released soon enough! this is a collectors edition preorder! =D
