This image has popped up on the PlayStation Facebook page and it’s causing quite a stir. Some commenters are assuming it’s a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, which given Rockstar’s currently hard at work finishing Max Payne 3 and making GTAV, seems a little unlikely.
What seems more likely is the assumption by many that this will be the reveal date for another instalment in the PlayStation exclusive God of War franchise. The text looks right for that series and we’ve been expecting a new GoW game for a while now so that seems plausible.
Some people are even suggesting it might be linked to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, although it’s thought unlikely that Sony would give such a big tease for anything to do with a multiplatform game. What do you think?

Sorry to be that “guy” but I think GOW is God Of War and GoW is Gears of War. I could be wrong of course :P

I always thought that GoW was God of War & GeoW was Gears of War (technically i think God of War was around first, so it would be fair for it to claim the GoW moniker)- Either way, too many similar acronyms!

Well, it does seem to hint at some form of sequel, and looks GoW-y. And I do hope it is.
But it could potentially be whatever Guerilla Games or Sucker Punch is working on.

Really hope it isn’t God of War. I don’t mind the PSP prequels as they provided a bit of back story but GOW3 was seen as the conclusion. Besides, they were becoming very samey.
If they bring it back they will be no better than Microsoft and their flogging of the Halo franchise.

side note, MS have flogged Halo for all its worth… they have even stooped as low as making Lego figures and play sets for children to young to of even played the halo game!?!? Couldn’t believe it when i walked through toysRus

There’s a film, books, comics – all that stuff that kids can access (and of course they play the games too…). Halo has plenty of life left in it, as the sales figures at Christmas will no doubt show ;)

Oh there is certainly life in the series yet (I’m currently playing Halo: Anniversary) but they specifically said Halo3 was the end of the trilogy. Reach added some much needed back story but to start a new trilogy just shows a lack of creativity on their part.

Well a new PS3 game is being made by Santa Monica studio (confirmed in the downloadable ‘tester’ series on US PSN)so I assume & hope it is GoW, maybe with a new character! :O
