Surprise! Another Nintendo Game Coming to a Nintendo Console

Following yesterday’s shocking revelation that the Wii U will play host to a Mario game, there’s some more earth-shattering news. It’s been confirmed that Pikmin 3 will also be released on the console. I know, it’s altered my perception of reality and changed the scope with which I dare to dream.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Mario news, Kotaku got in touch with Nintendo to ask about the Pikmin game we first heard was in development for the Wii four years ago. It was confirmed last year that development had switched to the Wii U and now Nintendo has issued the following statement to Kotaku:

In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June. He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing.

Cheers, Shigsy!

  1. If Pikmin 3 is a WiiU launch title I won’t be able to hold back buying it day one. Love that little series.

    • I agree, but I am still feeling the sting of buying a 3DS day one. Hopefully Wii U software support will be up to scratch from the outset.

      • I’m still feeling the sting of buying a PS Vita day one lol

      • Agreed. I too bought the Vita/3DS day of release and felt the sting. Providing the Wii-U comes out with Pikmin and Mario that should be enough to convince me to get it day one and keep me occupied, otherwise I will force myself to wait.

  2. Doing what they do I guess..
