Splash Damage Goes F2P

Brink developer, Splash Damage, is evolving and has announced ‘WarChest’, a brand new videogame publisher and ‘Fireteam’, the company’s own online services operator.

The first game from WarChest will be iOS strategy game Rad Soldiers and the team has revealed their next two games will be a PC title later this year and a console game next year, both of which will be free-to-play.

CEO of Splash Damage, Paul Wedgwood, describes them as “Free-to-plAAA” – let’s hope that doesn’t catch on.

  1. So, is it wrong that I genuinely snorted with laughter at “Free-to-plAAA”?

  2. “Free to PlAAA…”

Considering my triple A experience of Brink was dreadful, I can guess that this is typical PR nonsense.

    • I enjoyed the game immensely, especially with the (few) TSA meets we had. Enough to plat it, actually!

    • yeah I only played it on the PC.. however it had connection issues was disappointed plus didn’t really enjoy much even if the free weekend lasts for three days.

  3. Free to plAAA?
I just died a little inside.

  4. Can easily see how the F2P will work here. Hopefully it wont be online-only.
