Sony’s press conference last E3, for me, was a late bus, a free Subway and some American beer, and sitting next to a couple of guys from a major US PR company. And then a batshit insane race against some customised Mustang, across LA, in a taxi driven by Batman.
This year might be a bit more sensible.
Sony, regardless, have kick started the hype train with their ‘invite-only’ minisite, which promises “the future of gameplay and innovation” and the “launch of more than 20 new gaming experiences” – big claims, the former quote hinting at new hardware, perhaps?
We suspect most of these have already been announced beforehand (God Of War, LittleBigPlanet Karting et al) but hopefully there’s going to be some big surprises, and regardless – plenty to play.
The press conference is at 6:00PM (Los Angeles time) on Monday June 4th, and will be streamed live on the PlayStation site here.

Well its a month off yet, so nothing to see here except bravado. I’ll check in on 5th June to see what actually got presented. Maybe a couple of vita games? I actually want a vita, just not interested enough in any of the games yet.

I bet there will be loads of Vita stuff. The PS: All Stars director was questioned about a Vita version, and he said ‘maybe.. stay tuned’ so that’s a good sign. I recommend you check Gravity Rush out though, as it looks fantastic.

Future of gameplay?
Surely a PS4, or maybe some Move games. :P
bmg_123
More like a sequel to Eyepet and friends…

When I read “the future of gameplay and innovation” I immediately thought of cross compatibility of Vita and the PS3. Whilst a PS4 announcement would be exciting, I think showcasing that the current gen can perform close to the Wii U, would definitely inject life into the PS3.
bmg_123
I usually refuse to get excited by PR…but it’s E3, so…AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
bmg_123
NOOOOOOOOO!!! Just realised it’s in the middle of my exam period. YEEEEEESSSS! It’s also in the half-term break, which means, NO EXAMS! E3 IS MINE!
…Sorry.
uncleniccius
I’m in the same boat as you **high five**. Revision until 4oclock, then E3 timeeeeeeeee! :D
Vandix
Maybe showing Killzone 4 on a PS4? Would be sweet!
maneorix
Don’t tease me! I doubt there’d be any footage if KZ4 was announced for the PS4 though, it would se a tad early, especially because it’d be on a new platform. One can dream though ;D
bmg_123
There might be a target render that they say is real-time gameplay though!
Rocket_345
Thank christ for that. During Half Term break meaning no exams the day after meaning E3 is mine.
gazzagb
“20 new gaming experiences” does that necessarily mean new games though? For all we know it could be 20 new Home spaces! :P
skibadee
even if some are what we already no that is still a lot of fresh unknown games looking forward to E3 big time PS4 might be relieved.
uncleniccius
I wouldn’t have thought the PS4 will be announced. Sony have too many games coming out, and although it wouldn’t damage sales; they could just do a ‘Playstation event’ like they did for Vita.

You did what last year? I am in the wrong Buissness

I’m going to stop myself from jumping to any conclusions this time
