“The year is 2012,” says the blog. “It is told that this year brings forth the end of the world or so the interesting people tell me. So I thought it would be a good idea to bring you some awesome games with an apocalyptic theme to get you in training for our impending doom.”
The sale starts tomorrow and last two weeks, and will feature 30% off Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas DLC, Bioshock 2 and Borderlands from £9.69 and discounts for Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica: X, Amy, Burn Zombie Burn and All Zombies Must Die.
And yet despite being a year old this month, Evolution’s great apocalypse racer isn’t featured. No game, no DLC, nothing. Not really sure why, but even Evo’s Paul Rustchynsky gave PSNStores.com’s Ben – the guy that spotted this omission – a retweet.
Crazy.

Uh-huh. Guess it’s some super-secret businessy thing that’s holding it back. Pretty good price anyway at £20.
Sympo
Mean ****s its a great racer, the treatment for Evolution has been dreadful much like Eat Sleep Play and Lightbox in SCEE terrorities.
Simply SCEE needs sorted out badly.

what i don’t get, is why can’t they list them and give prices now?
are they still not sure what’s going to be on there less than 24 hours before the sale is due to start?
actually given who we’re dealing with here, that might not be so far from the truth.
i’m waiting to see what kind of discount Amy has.
as for no Motorstorm, this is scee remember.
cam the man
It is Sony, they don’t do things the common sense way.
justboy
Surely there is still time for them to shoe horn motorstorm in to the sale.
I’ll be interested to see the discount on the bioshock 2 dlc. Started playing it again this week after 2 years on the shelf.

There are no words to describe SCEE’S run of form. No words.
hazelam
i could think of a few.
but they would make a sailor blush. ^_^

Me too, I was just making a comment that wouldn’t get me banned after the marketing & distribution fiasco that is Starhawk.
hol
It’s quite amazing when you look at the other territories & see SCEE continually screw up! Bloody annoying with zero promotion of Starhawk & now an apocalyse sale with no motorstorm? I think whoevers in charge up in the SCEE ivory tower needs to lay off the gin! ;)
gazzagb
Depending on the price of Borderlands, I might get it. Want to play it to see if I like it before Borderlands 2 comes out.
Sympo
If you can gather like four friends to play the game in co-op, that’s where it really shines. Really is awesome.
KeRaSh
He’d only need three friends for a full four player coop session. ;)

You have to remember that just when Motorstorm Apocalype was about to be released there was a massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami that killed 15,000 people. The games release was cancelled in Japan and have NEVER been available in that country since.
For ANY Sony region to do a promotion of the game would be taken as a huge insult to the victims of the earthquake and would probably cost them their jobs so it comes as no surprise to me that Motorstorm Apocalypse isn’t included in this officially sanctioned SCEE bundle.

Is this another “4 euros in Europe, 1 dollar in USA” sale, like the Pixeljunk games fiasco?
teflon
Am I missing something? Has it been categorically stated that it’s not in the sale?
“You can expect titles such as Bioshock 2 and Borderlands from just £9.69/€11.99 with extra discounts for the DLC.”
I see a “such as” in there, which strongly implies that there is more to this sale than is stated, and that we’ll have to tune in to the update itself tomorrow in order to get the full list.
Until it’s definitively stated that it’s not in there, I’ll not throw a hissy fit. I mean, it’s not like Dead Nation was mentioned nor House of the Dead, but those are equally likely candidates for this kind of sale.
bowie
I think what is being missed is that the sale is on “some awesome games with an apocalyptic theme” rather than every game with an apocalyptic theme. Like you said there are plenty of candidates for this sale but not every one of them is going to be in the sale.
TheLig
I agree with bowie on this. Why the focus on what’s NOT on sale when you could’ve easily focused on what actually is on sale. This negative outlook seems to be infiltrating TSA more and more these days. I’m sad to say it, but its becoming tiring to see loads of articles about how bad gaming has become.
nofi
Hi guys. Comments noted, thanks.
teflon
OK, so “such as” only includes Worms 2 Armageddon, Armageddon Riders and a couple PS minis…
Why it didn’t have a definitive list in the post (and there’s still no definitive list) I do not understand. Missing out MS:A and a few others is also quite the oddity, as is the point of this post.
