Bethesda have announced ‘Doom 3 BFG Edition’ for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, which will feature Doom 3, the ‘Resurrection Of Evil’ pack and seven brand new levels entitled ‘The Lost Mission’.
The game has been re-mastered for consoles with enhanced graphics, 5.1 surround sound, a new checkpoint system and tweaked controls. John Carmack, Technical Director at id Software said,
Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls.
New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it.
The Doom 3 BFG Edition will also include the original Doom and Doom 2.

Oh yes! I love Doom 3! Completed it do many times on the original Xbox and my laptop when away. Will definitely buy this again if it’s upgraded visually and with trophies.
Definitely a precursor to a Doom 4 announcement. Anyone else think the Doom movie was great or just me? Lol

Looking forward to playing it again, wonder if they will fix the torch this time…

Nice :) Played the first half of Doom3 on PC but somehow never finished it, so a chance to play it again on PS3 is great.
Also this explains why Bethesda requested the re-evalution of the Doom & Doom2 ban in Germany not long ago (I think both have an age rating of 16+ now)

Having never played any Doom game before I have to say that looks pretty bloody terrific

Never played a Doom game? Wow! Doom 3 was good, over-hyped but good. Doom 1 and 2 are absolutely brilliant still.

there’s one feature i’d most like to see added.
the ability to use a light and a gun at the same time.
