It’s so very nearly E3, and I’ll bet you’re all sorts of excited by it. With that in mind there’s going to be plenty articles for me to cover in this, the latest Community Round-Up.

This week in competitions, and hot off the press, we have a copy of Sniper Elite V2 up for grabs. All you have to do is identify the rival games that the titular sniper is taking shots at in our post.
We also have one continuing competition, in the form of our giveaway for the Max Payne 3 strategy guide. Just identify the name for the time dilation effect in the game for a chance to win.
Always nice to have some winners to announce, this time around for the Dirt Showdown competition. The lucky people this time around were Philzy85, Heedbaw and Helixo, whose answer with his daughter collecting worms I found completely adorable!

We have the usual nice mix of games in the meets this week, with Uncharted 3 meet starting tonight at 7PM. Looks to be a bumper turn out, even though I will sadly not be in attendance. Sunday sees the regular Dirt 3 meet Might Morphin’ into a Dirt Showdown meet at 6PM, with Starhawk following it at 9pm. Again, it looks like both are seeing some good turn outs.
GT5 is back on Monday at 7PM, with Max Payne 3 following it closely at 8PM. Then the long wait again until Resistance Burning Skies fans the flames of portable multiplayer FPS gaming… whilst sat in front of your tele within range of your WiFi connection. That kicks off on Thursday at 7PM.
That’s far from the end of the meets, though. There’s the regular Friday night Battlefield 3 and Wipeout 2048 meet, and probably some Medal of Honor on Thursday. Maybe even another dose of Dirt, so keep an eye out.
Heck, you can even make your own meets, if you’ve got more than 250 TSA points!

On the reviews front, it’s all about the Vita again this week, but maybe not as wonderfully as we might hope. Mortal Kombat‘s port from console to Vita went down well with Jim, but sadly Alex didn’t find quite as much to enjoy with Resistance: Burning Skies. Though that’s hardly as devastatingly disappointing as Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock was for Blair. Do NOT buy that game!
With E3 literally within spitting distance for many, it’s no surprise that there aren’t any previews to go around, but the rumour mill has been spinning epic yarns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So naturally, we have a series that looks into what we should expect from each of the consoles’ announcements. All of that is covered in our E3 Rumour Round Up portal.
There’s also been a look back at some of the Great PS3 moments from times long gone. Killzone 2, PS3 Slim, Trophies and of course, that rather exciting PlayStation Move tech demo which didn’t quite live up to its promise. All must be console defining moments for many.
Our yearly E3 Bingo feature continues, and then we have our regular weekly features. You have Cheap PC Gaming showing up with Limbo, which is nice, considering that it’s in the new Humble Bundle. WeView’s verdict for Journey came in, with the next game on the chopping block being Mass Effect 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 popping up as this week’s Playback. Rounding us out, we have the latest edition of What We Played, and Meet the Reader featuring KAMIKAZE-UK.

What’s that Skip? Solid Steven is incessantly verbally accosting our latest (as in, he turns up late to our morning briefings) moderator, the Origami Killer? To the Forums!
- KeRaSh is giving away his spare copy of Bastion, from that Humble Bundle. You want to win it? Tell him so!
- Nofi’s acting on our latest “Keep the Proles happy” drive, and asking you all for some input on TSA’s design and focus.
- Old Mike is getting older. He’s finally finishing his degree over at Greendale Community College, and moving into a nice home. It has four cats.
- Boomshanks says “Whaddup, bros!” or words to that effect.
- Captain Kirk has offered to design anyone who wants one a racing helmet. Not a real one, but the thought counts for something, right?

So, last week’s stunningly inspiring face off between the protagonists of Spec Ops: The Line and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier came in with a bumper crop of… No wait, Kozak, from GRFS won by 2 votes, to nothing. Congrats, or whatever.
So, he can now go up against the PS Vita’s latest hero, Tom Riley. He’s a firefighter, going up against the Chimeran invasion of the US East Coast in Resistance: Burning Skies.
John Kozak
Pros:
- Highly trained, military Special Ops dude.
- Part of a highly trained, Special Ops team.
- He’s in the future, so he’s got all sorts of fancy gizmos, like heads up displays around his gun and stuff. That stuff’s snazzy.
Cons:
- Totally riffing off similar characters.
- Only good enough for the Ghost Recon B-team? Clearly he totally sucks, right?
- I feel like I’ve seen all this before.
Tom Riley
Pros:
- Highly trained Fireman dude, with an axe. He just runs around with a great big axe to hit bad things with.
- What do you mean Kozak can only carry two weapons?! They all look really dull too. Riley? He’s rocking a huge arsenal of crazy futuristic alien guns.
- He’s got a little back up, but they pretty much all die easily, meaning that this Fireman Sam is facing off against a great big invasion almost all on his own.
Cons:
- Always rushing into extremely perilous situations, just to save some old lady’s cat, or to try and rescue some people in danger. Lucky he’s got recharging health, I guess.
- Fancy weaponry, sure, but he’s still got to barrel his way through head first. Not even a smidgeon of stealth or guile.
- Even playing as a Fireman, which you don’t really see outside of a tiny minority of kids games, he’s managed to be a cliché.
So, who do you think will win in this face off?
Next week… It’s Steven time…
Mike
Greendale Community College has been good to me :D
gazzagb
Ha, I only just noticed the Community reference!
Origami Killer
Love the last con on Tom Riley! Chimera weaponry of Riley would win it for me so he gets my Vota.
The WeView verdict of Journey finally made me purchase the game. It’s something quite special but the massive hype ruined it for me.
Also thanks for letting us know Steven is the round uper for next week, gives me time to prepare mentally for it :P
The Lone Steven
We disccused this at the meeting this morning which you didn’t attend! Thanks to you, i don’t get monday off as i’m having to stalk you then kidnap. Adam ordered it btw and has threatened to ban my tea access if i don’t do it. So THIS MEANS WAR! :p
Origami Killer
Why don’t we just gang up and get Adam? :P
The Lone Steven
I would have taken him down last week but he has Nofi and Dan lee on his side, i’m crazy but i ain’t messing with the Nofi nor dan lee! They can actually kill me you know! :P
Origami Killer
Hmm nor can I get them as Nofi blocks me on twitter! I’ll just have war with you then :L
gazzagb

And I vote for Kozak, his gadgets rule!

Death_In_Flamez
Kozak!
KeRaSh
Make sure to check out the Bastion give-away. So far only gazzagb has entered and I don’t want to make it that easy. ;)
philzy85
woop woop thankyou TSA! :D
Deathbrin
Do you do a Folding column?
The Lone Steven
Well, i only know about the meetings 2 minutes before they happen. It’s not my fault that Peter refuses to allow me to install a turbo boost to the slow as hell lift in order to get from the basement to the community team offices! Plus, i do 70 hour weeks! Bloody Adam refuses to let me do 5 day weeks as the crazies will take over TSA according to him if i don’t keep them in check every day. That and being the Janitor may have something to do with it. Why do i only get 300 biscuits a week?
Also, Origami Killer, stop throwing trash on the floor in the mods club or i will be forced to give you a wedgie from the top of TSA towers. As i’ve already did it to a TSAer yesterday for throwing a wrapper on wet floor despite me telling them it’s wet. Grr.
Anyway, OK, Me and Elder Mike will beat you up with Dildos as it’s the new mod welcoming thingy at 12 tomorrow. If you don’t attend, i will be forced to spent the bank holidays tormenting you and may even steal your soul.Oh and i like how i get dumped with the E3 round up! Actually i asked for it but ermm.. LOOK OVER THERE! *drops a smoke bomb and chokes* Why does that never work!? And Whoever keeps dumping animal waste in my office had better stop it or you will be added to my torment schedule.
Sane version:error Sane version not found. :p
Origami Killer
Ill use bins from now on!
The Lone Steven
Goo.. GODDAMM IT! *sees a mountain of rubbish on his office desk and explodes from rage which causes the windows of every floor to crack* :P
Origami Killer
you’re paying for that!
The Lone Steven
Actually you are as i’ve just deducted it from your pay. ;)
Origami Killer
My biscuit tin is empty…you!
The Lone Steven
There is a reason why the entire staff and mod team are scared of me, that is the reason. *sees Nofi and legs it*
Origami Killer
he will get you one day!
The Lone Steven
Not if i keep my anti Nofi detection radar updated with the latest Sof…*gets hacked by Nofi and is forced to punch himself in the balls repeatly*
Sympozium
Woah I wanna hack into the minds of other people.
Origami Killer
Just not Steven’s mind, you never quite know what you might find in there.
freezebug2
Jesus christ….Reeves and Mortimer on Acid!
Far out tangent man :P
