Forza Horizon Dated

At their E3 press conference, Microsoft have just shown a new trailer for the forthcoming Forza Horizon. Taking Forza away from its more customary racetrack-based setting Forza Horizon brings a festival vibe, akin to Motorstorm, to the franchise.

With a road-racing feel, think along the lines of Criteron’s recent racers such as Burnout Paradise and NfS: Hot Pursuit, the game will see you racing against your foes amongst the traffic in a variety of settings.

Horizon has been developed by Playground Games with assistance from Turn 10 unlike the previous Forza titles which have all been Turn 10 developed. It has been expected to have much more of an arcade-racer feel to it moving away from the more simulation-like nature the series is known for.

The, presumably US, date given for Horizon’s release is the 23rd October this year.

  1. I was hoping for a gameplay-showing, because I still don’t really “get” what kind of game this is. It looked like Test Drive Unlimited with circuit-races aswell.

  2. Graphically, it looked great but it just seems too soon for another Forza game when the latest one is only a few months old.

    • A few months? It’ll be a year old by the time this comes out.

  3. It looks great , not a fan of open world racers myself but it looks to have circuit and rally also.
