In a slightly frustrating interview with VentureBeat, Sony’s head of Digital, Jack Buser, seems quite happy to downplay Microsoft and Nintendo – suggesting that they’ve “lost the plot”.
“I think we’ve had a fantastic E3,” he said. “I’ve watched all of our competitors very closely. And I think we did a very good job of drawing a solid line in the sand here at E3, and standing up with our back straight as PlayStation and saying, ‘We’re for gamers.'”
“We are for the gamer first and foremost. Everything we do at PlayStation, we ask ourselves first, ‘What’s right for the gamer?'”
Apparently, and without wanting to beat the dead horse, that’s Wonderbook. I’m a gamer, and I don’t care about it at all – I’d, like most people, had rather they spent those twenty minutes trying to show what the Vita can do rather than relying on people like us.
“The reaction to the press conference has been just amazingly positive. While some of our competitors, seemingly, are losing the plot, forgetting what built this industry,” he said. “It was the gamer.”
“I’m biased,” he remarked, “but these are the best games I’ve ever seen, and they’re exclusive to our platform. These are the types of games that gamers want, and they’re pushing what a console game can be to the next level. It’s not yet another rehash of the same old thing; these are truly innovative, genre-breaking experiences that can only be found on PlayStation.”
It’s this annoyingly inward approach that normally makes me switch off.
So I did. You might have more luck.

For all his arrogance, he’s right about Nintendo losing the plot though.
This article isn’t from a games site, but really illustrates what wrong with the functions of the WiiU, doesn’t even touch upon the lack of expected details- Zelda, date, price, MarioKart, Zelda, Pokemon, Zelda etc.

And I forgot the link. :(

Jack Buser? Er WHO??? :D Never heard of him + just because he said all that(in a sort of cocky way, yeah so what) it don’t mean all of the people who work for SONY’s PlayStation brand are like that. Anyway i think Microsoft is the more irritating company(when they talk) tho in gaming :-/ Everyone at Microsoft speak like that, like they are the best thing ever to happen to gaming :D + SONY’s E3 show was ‘ALL’ about the GAMES, isn’t that what idiots on the internet want, GAMES? + SONY just can’t say or do anything this this Gen without someone on the internet CRYING like a big BABY because it hurt their little feelings to, Aww :D

Of course a Sony guy is gonna toot Sonys horn, its like the MS guys who were interviewed all tooting Smart Glass and how great everything is.
Its just buissness and they are trying to put themselves over.
I personaly thought Sony had the stronger going for the platform holders.
I liked smart glass idea but was E3 really the place to show it off….
Dance Central is MS big hitter for kinect BUT What makes this version better than the last one, what innovation takes it that 1 step beyond where we needed to be… i dont get why they showed it off with that usher performance???
On the Flip side, Sony IMO made the same mistake with wonderbook, sure its gonna be a big hit with the kids… but did we need to see it at E3? i cant help feel that this section was bolted on, and this is where PS4 would have been showcased IF MS had went with new hardware.
i dunno, i deffinatly felt the whole E3 this year lacked comapred to the last few.

At a glance I thought the title said ‘Jack Bauer’. I was disappointed afterwards.

LOL jbni i thought exactly the same thing.I can only assume Bauers sentiments would be somewhere along the lines of “E3,the worst day of my life…”.

Sorry Mr Buser but they were all duff.Granted Sonys may’ve been a little less duff than others but duff it was.
He is understandably smug as i’m guessing theres a fat bonus depending on it.

Cobblers!
In the conference: 20 minutes of Wonderbook and nothing about the masses of games coming to the Vita. I’d say Sony lost the plot there.
On the other hand, they were showing some nice, new IP (Beyond and The Last of Us, even if that is basically new versions of Heavy Rain and Uncharted).
