Disney has launched its debut trailer for upcoming holiday flick, Wreck-It Ralph. The animation picture, due to launch on November 2nd, tells the story of an 8-bit video game villain tired of being demonized after 30 years of employment in fictional arcade game, Fix-It Felix.
Wreck-It Ralph appears to be yet another charming Disney film, this time exploring the many settings and universes modern gaming has adopted in recent years. The trailer alone is chock-full of references to existing games and characters, one scene parodying an alcoholic’s anonymous meeting with a gathering of iconic villains such as Dr. Robotnik, Bowser, and even Kano.

Wreck-It Ralph is one video game adaptation we actually wouldn’t mind getting our hands on.

i’ve been hearing about this one for a while now, given the plot, there was no way i was gonna not see this.
and from the trailer it looks like it’ll be a quality film.
was that purple haired elf Kameo’s evil sister the that bad guys meeting?
there are a couple of others i’m not sure about.
the pink rhino, the one eyed thing that looks like mike from monsters inc, though looking closer it might be a beholder.
the devil guy, though he kind of looks like horny from dungeon keeper.
and then there’s the yellow robot.
maybe they’re not all from real games.
of course the zombie could be from, well, almost any game from the last few years. ^_^
he was hilarious though.
i can’t wait to see the movie.

I’ll end up watching it for the references alone. I don’t like how it seems like they’re mimicking Pixar’s visual style, because it looks quite Pixar-y, but I have a feeling it wont be of the same level of quality.
