Tomorrow – that’s when WipEout 2048 will be updated with brand new DLC, and if you’ve bought the stuff on PS3, it’s yours for Vita, free of charge.

“The PS3 incarnation of the WipEout series, WipEout HD, is now available to download on PS Vita in the form of the WipEout 2048 – WipEout HD Game Pack priced £6.49,” says the press release.

“Race your way through 12 new tracks (including eight reverse tracks) whilst mastering 12 new ships – a futuristic racing package sure to test the wits of those who have already conquered WipEout 2048.”

Both packs can be bought in a “complete game pack” at a discounted rate of £9.99.

“With 24 tracks, full access to 24 ships, plus four zone tracks, this is the ultimate package for those looking to experience uncompromised racing on-the-go,” say Sony.

    Seeing as PS3 buyers get it for free, if I buy the £9.99 pack on Vita, will I get the PS3 versions too?

    Glad it’s been “reimagined”, the HD trailers look so dated compared to 2048.

    Also glad there are only 4 Zone tracks….phew! :/

    • Oh, and for anyone interested, there are often WipEout 2048 TSA Meets on Friday evenings – next one is Friday 29th June! :)

      • Yes, you get it on PS3 free if you buy the Vita DLC!

    • I’m unsure if buying the Vita dlc bundle will get you the PS3 versions, however the PS3 bundle (Wipeout HD + Fury dlc) is £9.99 on the store, so if you don’t already have it I would suggest buying the PS3 version as that way you are guaranteed to get both versions.

    Brilliant- Wipeout HD edges Burnout Paradise as my favourite racer this gen.
    Fury carries it by far away from any other challenger.

    Games like this is what got me interested in the Vita in the first place.

  4. I just played Wipeout HD on PS3 again and i can say that ZONE mode is the greatest LSD that one can use.

    • Yeah, I like my drugs to last more than a few minutes :p

    • Does anyone know how big the download is?

      • The packs are roughly 300mb each if I remember correctly.

  9. So because I have the wipeout fury ps3 game (from when the account was hacked) does that mean I get the vita wipeout dlc for free?

    • Yep, as long as it’s activated on the account you play your Vita on it will work :-)
