Okami HD Confirmed, Will Feature Move Support

Yesterday’s rumours were true, then – Capcom’s bringing Okami to the PS3 natively and it’ll feature HD visuals (and a 16:9 aspect ratio) and Move support.  “I did not think it was possible to make the game look even better, but when I saw it for myself, I was a believer,” said Tristan Corbett, Marketing Manager for the publisher.

“The trademark sumi-e ink art style lends itself perfectly to HD, allowing players to experience more of the awe-inspiring world displayed in more detail than ever before,” he added.

“To create an even more immersive experience, you can take your PlayStation Move motion controller and use it as your own Celestial Brush and naturally make brush strokes to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.” The game will also feature traditional controls, though, if Move’s not your thing.

It’ll be a PSN download, and will feature a Platinum trophy.

  1. Brilliant – I bought this towards the end of my PS2 days and never finished it so will look forward to playing it through!

    • Same here. This is my chance to finish this great game.
I just wished they would release this for the Vita.

  2. Great stuff. Will probably wait a bit and see if they ever release it on-disc though.

    • Yup exactly the same here.
Looking forward to it, it looks great!

    • No chance.

  3. It’s one of those games I’ve always wanted to play but never got round to. Can’t wait to finally try it out!

  4. Yes! I’ve been hoping for this, now all the PS2 games I’ve wanted to play been H-Defied.

  5. Great news, this and Zone of Enders 2 are the only games I regret not buying for PS2. Both will be available for PS3 to me very soon. Viva La Sony!

  6. Excellent!

  7. great news.

i doubt i’ll be buying it as i still have the ps2 version, and i don’t have move.
but if i didn’t, i’d be very tempted.

great for anybody who hasn’t played it.

  8. This is fantastic news! It might even tempt me to dust off the Move!

  9. This deffinately calls for a professor farnsworth “good news everybody!”

  10. At this point, I’m almost convinced that the gaming industry is specifically remastering the small pile of PS2 games I never got round to finishing. Literally the only title left is Viewtiful Joe. And that was made by the same developer as Okami. So…why not make it a clean sweep? :D

Oh, and this will be awesome. Not bothered about Move; after playing Sorcery I’ve decided motion gaming isn’t worth the hassle. And the carpal tunnel syndrome.
