Kazunori Yamauchi has been speaking to the Spanish PS Blog and has confirmed that Polyphony Digital are preparing the next batch of Gran Turismo 5 DLC.
‘Future improvements’ for the series may include an event editor and they are even thinking of a ‘story mode’.
He spoke about a rumoured PlayStation Vita version of Gran Turismo.
‘Well, this type of information is confidential and I still cannot talk to you guys about that,’ he said.
Aha. News of Gran Turismo on Vita is confidential which means it must exist for it to be kept secret. Except by saying it’s a secret they have revealed it must exist.
Probably.

Best post-release support for a game ever?
JesseDeya
Burnout Paradise comes I think, but yes GT5 has been impressively supported and a lot of it for frees!

*comes close – Freudian slip :/
Lymmusic
Not as good as cam the mans freudian slip with his spelling of “whole” :)
ProjectJAY
Team Fortress 2, dude ;) Not on console, granted, but still adding content after 5 years.

True, true. But the PS3 version of that game was horrible…

They would be mad not to bring out a Vita version. I hope there will be a lot of ‘cross play’ between that and the PS3 version.
A Story mode (if done right) would give the game a hole new life.

I’m guessing the story mode would be GT6 as it states “Future improvements for the series” rather than title.
JBoo
I would rather have ‘Gran Turismo 6’ than more DLC really :-/

Lol hate to see how they gonna compress GT5 onto less than a 4gb cart :(
Unless there’s bigger versions of the carts? Hopefully.
hol
Happy enough that 5 has a bit more to come really. I can’t see Vita being cross play enabled with 5 though? More likely for 6 I think?
Jas-n
The worst thing about GT5 DLC is that there are no specific events to make use of it.

I enjoyed GT5 but I really miss the feature in GT PSP where you could just pick a track and car to race and it would select some cars for you to race against and you would earn some cash based on the length of the race. It opened up all the content you had access to.

GT5 Vita version? To help selling the 32gb cards?

Surely this is an opportunity for Sony to push the PS3 Streaming abilities for the Vita. Everyone claims that to stream PS3 games to Vita you only need to ‘turn a switch’. Surely this is the chance for Sony to ‘turn the switch’ on GT5. This will possibly result in a big increase in GT5 game sales which may encourage other developers to do the same.
Or possibly I just really want GT5 on my vita. That would as good as having an RPG for me.

Haha I love a good Catch 22.

That sounds pretty darn amazing, Gran Turismo Vita, Woop! Amazing!
The PS Vita seems like a great device, from what I’ve heard/read, it’s not exactly successful, but I do hope that Sony are managing. :-)
