Rockstar have released the first major DLC pack for Max Payne 3, entitled Local Justice.
The pack, which is available on both PS3 and Xbox 360, features three news maps (Imperial Palace, 55th Battallion HQ and Departure Lounge), a new weapon (the M4 Assault) and a new multiplayer faction (the São Paulo Police).
There’s also a Light Fingers Item for faster looting and five new trophies and Achievements.
Those with a Rockstar Pass will get the game included in the subscription, but for everyone else there’s an early bird sale of $5.99 (or 480 MS Points) for a week, after which it jumps up to $7.99.
Additionally, as from today all the pre-order DLC will be made available (at a cost) to everyone. This includes the Cemetery map, loadout packs and the classic Max Payne character for multiplayer.
Two more map packs are expected this summer, alongside a deathmatch mode and a co-op mode. Two further map packs will be available in the autumn.

After particular content was exempt, which was released after their “All DLC Pass” in L.A. Noir, i’m never sure where we stand, regardless of the fine print.

I reckon re L.A. Noire exempt dlc(naked truth or city,) they’ll of had an outcry on their own a forums at the time.
I remember peoples confusion & disappointment, voiced on our forums.

It is indeed a great deal of fun but its very far from being well polished. Massive connection issues, especially when in a squad and it just freezes for no reason sometimes.

Well the meet on Monday went ok, better than before but the mp still doesn’t function as it should for me, which is a shame as its enjoyable. I’d be tempted to get this if the mp side of things worked as it should.

This is my issue too – Do i get it whilst its cheap, as others involved in the meets will likely get it too, or do i just assume that this will be as similarly broken as the multiplayer modes are at the moment & therefore not worth geting even if it is cheap(er)??

Winds me up when DLC is a higher priority, than patching the game.. Aswell as release issuses, i’ve had countless full console freezes & longer than intial temp ingame freezes, which only occurred after dlc patch.

TBH, i am not sure how wide ranging the connection issues actually are – Some people seem to have plenty of issues wheras otheres seem to get none whatsoever.
That being the case, i am not even sure if connection issues has ever been reaised as a problem. If it hasn’t, waiting for a fix could prove to be quite lengthy!
I unfortunately fall into the ‘difficulty connecting’ category, but i have found that it can be improved slightly by bypassing my router & connecting straight to the modem. Doesn’t fix it though & i do generally get dropped from the party at least once duiring the meet.

I’ve experience two ingame issues. Temp freezing after you get shot, anything from 30secs to a min & *full console freeze, since dlc *patch.
The common 50/50 connection to a party & occasionally, i’ll go through the lengthy load, only to be disconnected on load completion.
My only other niggle, is spectator cam, i looks so sloopy at times especially in tight spaces. I can live with later.

Hmm, sounds like you are actually having more issues than me!
Can’t say i have ever had a great amount of freezing, but that might be because i get killed so often it hasn’t got time to freeze. Jesus, if mine was doing that, i’d just be looking at a series of still images for the evening! XD
The connection issues are the one that i do have though. As mentioned elsewhere, it does improve when jacking straight into the PS3 from the modem, but it still isn’t perfect & i still get the issue you described above at least once per session.
Not sure what spectator cam is to be honest – Do you mean the killcam, or the option to spectate when you have been killed & there are only a certain amount of lives left for the team or something?

Yeh not the reg killcam, but enforced cam on certain modes.

Grr I have so many games to play. DLC isn’t helping the matter, especially for games as great as Max Payne 3. No matter how big my backlog gets the more I seem to wat to buy more games. I need to just blitz it I think.

Been playing this a fair bit and it’s great fun, just a bit concerned that the number of players isn’t there for the userbase to start being fragmented by DLC.

Odd. I’ve not had any problem joining a game either individually or in a party. Had the occasional lockup and games taking an age to start but they’re definately exceptional circumstances to me. Maybe I’m just lucky

No, i don’t think its luck – Some people have a myriad of connection issues, whereas others see no problems whatsoever & its a pretty smooth experience for them.
You would therefore be in the latter camp, wheras i and a few others would be in the former.
…& because there are both & it is not a widespread connection for everyone trying to play, i don’t think that a fix for those that are having trouble will ever emerge sadly.

LOVE LOVE LOVE MP3 multiplayer like I haven’t loved any multiplayer for a long time… Haven’t experienced any connection probs yet – hope to see you online sometime soon PS3 people!! (I fight for the Destructoid crew).
Liking the idea that this engine will drive the GTA V multiplayer too as it is just super addictive!!

I can tell you from experience that its not so addictive if you have connection problems & then when you finally get in you just die all the time! XO
In fact, i might go as far as to say its bloody annoying!
I know i don’t use harsh language like this usually & for that i apologise to you all. It’s the only way to describe it though! :P
