Over on the EU PlayStation Blog, Sony has confirmed that upcoming mashup brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be launching for PS3 and PS Vita on October 26th in the UK (23rd in the States, 24th in Europe, and 25th in Australia).

The team also revealed some of the first set of unlockable costumes in the game – including Drake’s winter outfit from Uncharted 2, Big Daddy as the toy carried by the Little Sisters, and Sweet Tooth in the bone armour of Starhawk, complete with a flaming blue head – will be exclusive to those who pre-order. Before you go rushing off to throw your money at [insert retailer of choice] though, bear in mind that Sony is being coy about potential special offers or bundles for those looking at both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game – information on that to come “soon”.
At least two more characters and one more stage (and some surprises!) are due to be revealed around 2am tonight at the EVo fighting game tournament, with more announcements due next weekend at Comic-Con.

The more news I hear, the more excited I get :) I hope they have at least a dozen characters left to reveal, though.

Apparently there are more than twenty in the final game, and we’re only at eight!

Awe. Sum.

That Big Daddy looks sweet! I’ll be pre-ordering, but I’m going to wait for word on a collectors edition or something first.

I wonder if it’ll have any characters from fighting games……

I hope so :I

The E3 gameplay relaly didnt do it for me, i prefer the knocking people off the stage kind of way Smash Bros does it but they couldnt just outright copy that. the points sytem it has just doesnt feel right

Never played SSB before but I’m looking forward to playing PS All Stars.

I’m just getting the vita version, this game looks like it works on the vita not ps3
Kennykazey
What?! This game is all about frantic fun local multiplayer with friends, something the Vita can’t do.
Taylor Made
I knew what you saying but after watching the gameplay at E3, I didn’t she’ll out 250 for my ps3 for that kinda game, it’s either vita or no console. The game just wasn’t what I expected it to be.
Unless Popeye is a unlockable character then maybe I will buy it for ps3
Kennykazey
I payed over £400 for my PS3, and this is exactly the kind of game I want for it, a fun game to play with friends. SSB single player sucks IMO, so be careful if you’re buying this for that. I don’t see why people seem to think consoles are for blockbuster adventures and nothing else, not that you said that, but it seemed implied. I play all kinds of games on mine.

Ooh, well at least we finally got a release date, woop!
