The holy grail of games still awaiting trophies – Metal Gear Solid 4 – will finally get a patch to enable the virtual silverware.
The news comes via an interview with Hideo Kojima in this week’s Famitsu magazine over in Japan, and whilst there’s no date set yet for the patch, MGS4 is getting a budget release in August.
Konami is also supposed to be holding a Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary Event on August 30th.

I’m not sure I want trophys for MGS4, on one hand its good to enjoy the amazing story without quirky trophy requirements in the back of your mind, on the other hand I thought the trophies in Peace Walker weren’t a huge pain and stretched out the life of the game in an enjoyably challenging way. Fingers crossed they’re the same for 4 then :)

I’m not bothered anymore. Waited for ages playing other things in my backlog, and when I finally gave up on trophies and played it, I didn’t make it beyond the first couple of levels, as I was pretty bored by it (although I really liked MGS2 back then). Definitely not for everyone, and I would expect this to be one of the least played through titles, but maybe trophies help some.

That’s fantastic news, i made a brief start at replaying it recently but i will definitely get back into it now!
The only other thing i could wish for is a single install option.

If anyone still refuses to play this, then they are welcome to their choice and i respect that.
I can see MGS4 getting a lot of sales as i suspect a lot of people have traded it in due to the lack of trophies. I suspect one of the trophies will be SOLID SNAKE-Silver due to the pervy nature of the boss fights if you have a camara. ;)
