THQ has appointed former Relic COO Ron Moravek as Executive Vice President of Production. The appointment comes as THQ looks to adopt new business models.
“I am thrilled to be re-joining THQ and to be working with Jason and the development teams around the world to deliver high-quality games and digitally connected experiences,” said Moravek. “There are many exciting changes affecting the videogame industry today, and I look forward to building new games and experiences with Jason and the team at THQ.”
Moravek was part of the Relic team that brokered the deal where THQ bought the studio in 2004. He left in 2006 and in the time after became COO of EA Canada, as well as a senior adviser to NuCaptcha.
THQ has also managed to avoid being delisted by NASDAQ after its stocks traded over $1 a day for 10 consecutive days.
