007 Legends: Goldfinger Trailer

Activision has released a new trailer for 007 Legends highlighting the Goldfinger area of the game. The action, featuring Daniel Craig, rather than the film’s original Bond – Sean Connery, takes in all the best set pieces of one the finest Bond films, Goldfinger. Featuring everything from Auric Goldfinger’s laser interrogation scene to Pussy Galore and the urban myth-creating death-by-gold paint of Bond’s love interest to the film’s climactic raid on Fort Knox.

007 Legends takes in Bond classics: Moonraker, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Licence To Kill, Die another Day, Goldfinger and Skyfall, with the latter being released as DLC so as not to spoil the film’s release. PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners can get their hands on the title this week, with the release date varying by territory and the Wii U version arriving on its launch.

  1. Looks good.

I find it annoying Daniel Craig is replacing each Bond actor for the roles he didn’t play though- they used Sean Connery’s likeness for From Russia With Love, why’d they change the Bond actors for the Goldeneye remake and this?

    • Image rights?
Perhaps the way all the missions tie together into an overarching story, so having a consistent 007 agent in Daniel Craig & M in Dame Judi Dench it ties together, don’t know really.

Looks like it could be a good action game actually, with enough relevance to the film iteration of Bond to perform great fan service. Will definitely be buying it, although I need to break the back of XCOM first rather than it all falling to pieces after 10-15 as a result of my decision making.

  2. Looks decent except for one thing. Why is Daniel Craig being used for every bond in legends when he has only done 3 films and 2 of them are not in the game? It will confuse new fans as they will think that Craig has been in those films instead of Connery.

    • He’s the one everyone knows right now and the younger audience probably don’t want to see motion-captured old age pensioners popping a hip in the mo-cap studio.

  3. Liking the art style of this, feels very N64 :)

  4. I don’t like Craig as Bond. He hasn’t really fitted the role well. Each time I see him in Bond it feels like he should have just been in films like the Born Identity.

Also, if you mute the music of the trailer it looks very lackluster. May pick this up when it becomes bargain bin material.

    • But the point is that he does fit the role well, as with this incarnation of bond, they intended to make him more ‘gritty’. On this front, Craig succeds quite well i think.

I prefer the camper stylings of Moore or Connery, but the newer films aren’t at all bad & pretty well cast for the most part.

  5. I know graphics aren’t everything but this game’s visuals look almost last gen. If that’s a deliberate style choice then I’m not a fan.
