Our commitment to providing the best PlayStation-focused news on the net resulted in a major reboot and a change of the way we work recently, and that has resulted in a number of changes to the way the site is structured. As a by-product of this and the apparently healthier traffic levels as a result, we’re going to move servers, again.
Thanks to the guys at Krystal, we’re going to move onto a more reliable, more powerful server and one that runs on an SSD rather than a hard drive. This should hopefully mean faster page loads and a more stable connection, two things that have been suffering a bit over the last week or so.
This should all happen this weekend.
There may be some disruption to the site, though, and at some point we’ll need to take a database backup and then restore, meaning any comments made over a short period may be lost. This won’t be today, so you can happily enjoy the site without worries – it’ll hopefully be on Saturday or Sunday.
Because of this, we might move the normal community posts and other weekend features onto Sunday or Monday. We’ll let you know and obviously you can keep an eye on our Twitter feed for the latest updates as normal. Those on a quicker DNS (like Google’s, at 184.108.40.206) will see the updates sooner than others, but it should all be sorted for Monday.
Thanks again for all your visits, comments and RTs.
