Corvette C7 Test Prototype Now Available In GT5 As Sony Repeats The GTR Tease

One of the coolest things about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was the gradual reveal of new cars, including the shrouded Nissan GTR and the latest Impreza.

A nice crossover idea for real car enthusiasts.

Now Sony have repeated the same idea with the new Corvette, currently dubbed the C7 Test Prototype, which is available as free DLC for Gran Turismo 5. You can drive the car, but you can’t really see it, as it’s still (literally) under wraps.

The car was shown off yesterday at the LA Car Show (and still blanketed) so it’s clear Sony have been working with the manufacturers for a little while, prepping this reveal.

The car itself will be revealed in full on the 13th of January next year. Hopefully GT5 will see another update so that we won’t have to drive the C7 around the track with camouflage on.

The DLC is free, and available now.

  1. Very nice this. A clever tie-up by both parties. Oh, and another bit of content for GT5, now over 2 years since release!

    • I’m sure, like GTAIV, it has some of the most sustained sales on the PS3, whilst not peaking into the charts at any point I’d be sure it holds its end up – over the year probably outsells many new releases which appear in the charts for a week or two.

  2. Can’t fault PD for their consistency of pleasuring customers……….after sales.
With the current GT5 academy edition that contains the game and all of the DLC so far released (possibly without the last car DLC) selling for around 15 quid, you can’t really go wrong.

    • You’re not wrong. I finally picked up that exact version 2 weeks back, can’t believe I put off buying this game for so long.

  3. I don’t know if its me, but I can pretty much see what the car looks like in that video lol

    • It’s a disguised Transformer.

  4. still not bought or played GT5 despite having it on pre-order at one point. heres hoping for a playstation plus release. can’t see why not with all the dlc released, im sure they’d make a bit of profit.

    • I doubt it will as I think the game still sells well because it is the only game of its kind on the console.
