The wait is almost over. Sony is gathering the world’s videogame media, amongst others, in New York for a special presentation showing what’s next for PlayStation.
We’ve sent Alex to see it first hand but the rest of us will be watching what we expect to be the unveiling of the PlayStation 4 right here in the comfort of our own homes. We’d like you to watch it with us and, thanks to SCEE, we’ve been given the opportunity to stream it to you.
The event is set to start at 6PM local time, that’s 11PM here in the UK, and we’ll have a video stream live on this page about half an hour before then. You might want to keep a couple of browser tabs open because we aim to report on all the major news as it happens too, and with a second page open, you can tell us what you think in the comments below without interrupting your stream. Our stream should, we’re assured, work with mobile devices too.
The time for rumours, speculation and wild, hopeful dreaming is almost over. The future is about to begin.

And PlayStation World will come in two flavours:
Free
– Online free as the current Playstation Network
– Voice chat between all PlayStation certified devices, ie consoles and smartphones
Payment (annual cost of about $ 89.)
– Playstation Plus (included with these services previously have) enhanced new proposals, users PS4
– Access to Gaikai for cloud-gaming with the option to play for free to list some of the titles in a month, while others pay
– Share photos and / or videos directly to YouTube
– More space for saved games in the cloud

That’s a hefty increase if you just want PS+ and it seems a bit much to have both PS+ and Gaikai lumped in together. That could be a fair amount of content each month when combined … interesting though… could be very attractive to people who can’t afford to buy games regularly.
Guess we’ll wait for the official details later!
