Here’s a nice bonus for PlayStation Plus subscribers: from today, for two weeks, you’ll be able to download the HD remake of the first God of War game on PS3 for free and keep it for as long as your subscription lasts.
Obviously, this is all a bit of marketing from Sony to drum up hype for God of War: Ascension, but it’s certainly a nice treat nonetheless.
The first God of War game is as good a place to start as any – chronologically, Chains of Olympus and Ascension come before it but it’s up to you how you play – it’s not the best title in the series but it’s still a great game.
Ascension, which releases next month, features a first for the series in its multiplayer mode but it also features an in-depth story chronicling Kratos’ earlier days. We’ve taken a look at both the multiplayer beta and single player campaign, which are looking fantastic.

Yeah it is, I’ve got the Ico collection separately on my hard drive and they work fine via remote play.

Still got the disc version. YLOD stopped me from completing II. Always meant to plough through it and then go onto 3. As always, what i mean to do and what happens are 2 entirely different things.

These are great games, I hadn’t played them on PS2 so my first play through was only last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Same with the two PSP titles, which I played on PSP.
BTW TSA, the GOW Ascension Demo is also out for PS Plus members (3Gb). Downloading now.
