Free-to-Play Shooter “Blacklight: Retribution” Heading To PS4

Zombie Studios are bringing Blacklight: Retribution, a free to play first person shooter, to PlayStation 4. The developers call the game a “fast-paced, free-to-play online, multiplayer game that takes place in the near future and allows players to customize their characters and weapons in countless ways.”

It’s been available for PC for over a year, but apparently the PlayStation 4 was always the system of choice for Zombie Studios.

It’s almost impossible to see from the video what the game is really like, but you do get the occasional glance of the so-called Hyper Reality Visor (HRV) technology that lets you “see through the entire battlefield, find your enemies and coordinate attacks with your teammates.”

  1. Instant no from me. F2P can feck off

  2. I’ll be interested if it has a meaty single player campaign, and genuinely surprised.

  3. Not for me but lovely to see games like this coming to the PS4 as well as the free-to-play business model. Sure, we’re all against nasty IAPs but if handled correctly there are some awesome ways to enjoy gaming without breaking the bank. God knows I had hours and hours of fun for under £20 with League of Legends and that was F2P: my money going on new heroes and some awesome skin/outfit designs that I didn’t need to buy but fancied having.
