Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Leaks A Possible Release Date

The bizarre Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which still remains unannounced, is set for a release on the 1st May, according to a listing on the XBL Marketplace. The listing also confirms the game will be a standalone title.

What’s more is that the blurb reveals the game is starring Terminator and Aliens actor Michael Biehn, who’ll no doubt be the voice behind the main protagonist.

Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world. Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide. Playing Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon doesn’t require a copy of Far Cry® 3.

There’s no information regarding other platforms yet. Nevertheless, Blood Dragon is shaping up to be this year’s craziest game – something which Blair praised earlier this week.

  1. I’m interested in this, but disappointed with the fact it’s looking like an Xbox online thing! D:

  2. This seems mental (and awesome).

  3. Really hope this is real! I love 80’s films of this ilk.

  4. ‘Blood dragon’ pretty catchy people who make games should use it more often.8)

  5. Get the feeling that every company involved with Farcry 3 wants to tap into the forthcoming Steampunk craze (quite rightly so!). If this 60% of the game FC3 was with the quirks it intends then it should fucking brilliant! (excuse the language)

  6. It sounds/looks brilliant, but what makes it Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and not just Blood Dragon?

    • Well its “taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil” and seems to use the same engine/game systematics.

      • I wonder if they could be using the same island or something. The use of the number 3 is what confuses me.

  7. This sounds absolutely brilliant. Sounds like Jason Brody took too many blue acid pills and thinks he’s an 80’s action hero!
