This ties it with earlier rumours, and rules out (at least for now) a PlayStation 4 version.
Sites picking up on the news include Motor Authority, Jalopnik and Top Gear.
Whilst it may appear that they’re all quoting the same retailer source, there’s a certain sense of weight behind the reports, which all seem rather confident in their reporting.
A full reveal for the game is just weeks away, TheSixthAxis understands.
If there are hands-on previews (which we assume there will be, as with all Sony titles of late) chances are they won’t be on PS4 hardware, adding further weight to the PS3-only notion.
Hopefully we’ll find out for sure soon – a revamped GT5 would be good enough for most, assuming Polyphony have worked on the Premium car count, sorted out the engine sounds and enhanced the tracks.

I hope Kaz keeps GT6 for PS4 and not on PS3 as I’d like to see it looking it’s best. i.e. running on next gen hardware.

Polyphony, please employ the people who did the sound recording for Need for Speed: Most Wanted to record your engine/exhaust sounds.
Going back to GT5 after playing NFS:MW extensively really made it apparent that GT5 has got it so wrong when it comes to sound.
A Mercedes SLS AMG should sound like Zeus passing wind, not like a Kia.

GT5 I sunk a lot of time into but it had little charm to it. Felt like it held me back too much in order to keep things competitive when really the AI was more ‘Sunday driver’ than all out racer.
Also have you driven a car? For a sim it simulates quite poorly the sense of speed and grip.

It’ll be just like GT5.
I preorder it, it comes on my birthday (25th) I spend all day with some bros playing it.
Good times.
