PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD Coming To Vita

As hinted at yesterday, Double Eleven’s first publishing deal with PixelJunk developers Q Games will be a PlayStation Vita title, and is – rather joyfully – a ‘HD’ version of possibly their best game: PSP and PS3 title PixelJunk Monsters.

The game will be heavily based on the popular 2008 original Tower Defense game, but will include the Encore DLC and a whole host of Trophies.

“What we are doing is part of a long partnership and we are starting small and working up towards something big,” Double Eleven’s Lee Hutchinson told TheSixthAxis.

“We work with Shahid in London, and to a certain extent if we go to Vita first we can get funding from Sony,” he added, speaking to EuroGamer.

“We’ve got the code base so it’s easy for us to get the game running on it. Sony get a small exclusive window on it, so they’re happy, we get funded, so we’re happy. The exclusive window is only ever implied, and it’s never contractual.”

“It’s always shorter than you could get another version out anyway.”

  1. Fantastic, but I wish they’d put something new in it. This is just a high res version of the PSP game by the sounds of it.

    • There’s late to a party then there’s turning up to a completely different party! :-)

Saying that, he mentioned them starting small. They nailed that bit!

  2. I’m all for them doing stuff on other platforms – just keep bringing the Vita goodness :P

  3. Love this game, but it’s really hard at times (or I was really crap)
