Levine: BioShock Vita “Out of My Hands”

The latest words on BioShock Vita, as tweeted by BioShock (Big) Daddy, Ken Levine were: “I’m still working on the matchmaking of that deal, no promises whatsoever. Out of my hands. So vent your spleen now.”

His tweet raises some interesting questions, if deal is not being brokered by Ken then who is working the numbers with Sony, and more importantly who will be developing the game? Double Eleven, the team behind LittleBigPlanet Vita was also pondering who would be handed the keys to Rapture.

“I wonder who is in the running for BioShock Vita. No one has spoken to us yet :( . Sony America must be handling it,” they tweeted.

If a deal is made then it appears the game will not be developed by Irrational and, like Call Of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, be outsourced and run by Sony. Ken Levine is fiercely protective of his franchise – he never speaks of Bioshock 2 – but he is at least acknowlegding the existence of Bioshock Vita, which is a good sign.

  1. So, he’s trying to find financing and someone who can make it? That doesn’t mean he won’t be involved (as producer/writer?).

    • It appears that Sony will finances the game, basically buy the rights to make a Bioshock Vita game, same as the did with COD.

  2. Bioshock Vita, so your dead, just not dead-dead because your still here?

  3. Ah well… If this ever sees the light of day it will be fairly poor unless someone with as much vision and talent as levine gets involved…

  4. Good thing the devs of Resistance of Black Ops Vita aren’t what they used to be…

  5. It’s not gonna happen is it? Unless they just port Bioshock 1 or 2.
