PSN Store Update: 07/08/13 – Tales of Xillia, Spartacus Legends And ZoE

It’s Wednesday again, and we all know that means it’s time for another PSN Store update to roll in, amidst all of the summer sales and discounts.

This week sees the localised release of Tales of Xillia, a game which Aran absolutely loved in his review, as well as the digital releases of Zone of The Enders 1 and 2.

For those who don’t want to spend any money, there’s the free-to-play Spartacus Legends, which sees you fighting to the death in a game tied to the fairly popular TV series. Deathmatch Village also brings the free-to-play model to a shotgun toting MOBA, which is hitting both PS3 and PS Vita at the same time.

Additionally, the Saints Row IV “Inauguration Station” demo lets you sample a little of the gibbering nonsense to come from that game, when it’s released later this month. Mars: War Logs also has a trial, letting you sample the game before you buy.

There’s a trio of further PS Vita games released this week, with BreakQuest: Extra Evolution, Die!Die!Die! and Floating Cloud God Saves The Pilgrims in HD! all hitting the little handheld that could.

Finally, fans of Soul Sacrifice should certainly pick up the free DLC. Some maps are being unlocked via the latest patch, but other content needs an unlock key to be grabbed from the store. This latest content doesn’t appear to be live just yet, but there’s more detail on the EU PS Blog, for when you do want to get down to some sacrificing.

  1. I’ll try out the ftp games and demos, should pass the time this eve if nothing else.

  2. So, being a big fan of violence and male nudity, I downloaded the Spartacus game.

Only to find myself staring at an error screen. The service is not available, apparently. Which is a bit disappointing.

Anyone remember the last time something didn’t go wrong with a PSN store update in some way?

    • happened to me on the US verson, also error message, i didn’t bother with it anymore, but yeah weird one, dunno why its happened, maybe its fixed now?

      • Looks like it’s “issues” with the EU version now. And they’re “investigating” these issues. Which technically doesn’t mean the same as “fixing” the issues.

I guess you get what you pay for. Which is nothing, really. Unless you paid for stuff for a free game. Which would be silly. Unless nobody did it and they didn’t make any money.

        Is that how it works?

        1. Release game based on popular TV series
        2. Break servers
        3. ?
        4. Profit

  3. Phew, a cheap week for me for a change.

I did notice some coins for £36.99 for that Total Recoil game (or whatever it’s called), even though the game only cost £1.99!! Surely no one will buy that :O

  4. Floating God and Breakquest for me.

    • Tried Breakquest and have to say i think it’s the worst block game i’ve ever played, plus you have to go to the store to get 33 free balls then have to pay for more balls!

  5. Hmm… nothing for me. You guys should get Tales of Xillia and also the older titles too, i recommend it if you are in need of JRPG.

  6. Valkyria Chronicles 2, baby.

  7. strictly speaking Spartacus is freemium..
played it on 360 and its…to be be fair ..a bit shite

    • That was the only thing I was interested in, but now I’m not so sure.
