Podcast: Episode 112 – Villains’ Month, The Conjuring and Dinosaur Hunter

Last week Peter hoped that we’d have a slightly more full podcast this week. Alas, it was not to be. With Peter shopping for sofas, Kev waiting eagerly by his front door for the Virgin engineer to arrive and connect his internet, and me completely forgetting to book a guest, Lewis and I were left to our own devices. Last time this happened we spent an hour and a half talking exclusively about Batman: Arkham City, but fortunately it’s a bit more well rounded this time around.

It’s not all good news though, as there isn’t an awful lot of gaming talk this week. I’ve been playing Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter on iOS, who wouldn’t play a game with that for a title, but that’s about it for gaming chat this week. I’ve been reading a good number of comic books though, and I’ve got a fair amount to say on DC’s Villains’ Month if you’re interested on my opinions on that.

As for Lewis, he’s been watching The Conjuring and Press Pause Play. They both sound rather interesting in my opinion, and I might try and keep an eye out for Press Pause Play. He did not, however, have a quiz this week, mostly as it’s a bit hard to run one with a single participant.

We do, of course, have questions from our listeners this week to round things out, but that’s it for this week.

  • Please send us questions via email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com.
  • You can also tag your questions on Twitter with #tsacast and, provided you’re not on a private account, we’ll see them in our search each week. Finally, as usual, there’s a questions thread, set up by the wonderful Motalla, in the forum.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  • As usual, you can grab the MP3 file here (right click to download).
  • You might want to get it (when the RSS catches us) on the RSS feed, here.
  • Or we’re on iTunes, when iTunes feels like updating. You can also leave us a review and subscribe there, if you want to be particularly lovely.

  1. Great podcast as usual. Now I’m going to bed after giggling like a little girl.
Ooh, and the idea about the TSApodcast twitter is great.

  2. which one is the girl one out of Diamond and Pearl?

    come on Kris, it’s obvious.
diamonds are a girls best friend after all. ^_^

i used to have an Ngage, cool little gaming device, for the time, but a bit shite as a phone.
like you said, having to hold it sideways to talk on it.
but i mostly got it for a handheld version of the original Tomb Raider.
it was actually a pretty good version.

what sort pub did you go to that had a cricket team?
i’ve heard of pub football teams, pup dart teams, even though darts is more of a sole sport, but not cricket.

for a fictional universe i’d like to live in, i think the Grid from Tron would be pretty cool, so long as i wasn’t forced into playing the game to the death.

i haven’t seen any of the Step Up films, but i’d bet the plots are a good deal more comprehensible than that of Donnie Darko.

and Lewis, which would be better, the Step Up movies, or S. Darko? ^_^

  3. Good one guys, very good. I’m listening to each episode and to be honest I’m waiting each week for the episode at work. The work day is so much better while listening to your podcast ^^

I just remembered how good Pokemon Blue was on the old Game Boy. So much fun in getting those dojo (or how they called it there) badges and stuff.

Personally I cannot stand horror movies and especially “paranormal activity” ones. I prefer my entertainment to entertain me and not cause me not want to go drink something in the middle of the night. Brrrrrrr…

The Twitter can actually be a good idea. I’m not using it so much, but will on the podcast…but wait, how will you do it? Wouldn’t the show have to be like LIVE? Am I missing something here?

Can’t wait for the next one about all the SONY PSV, PS4 and PS3 news – it’s been a blast in this week.

  4. Ow, and the first Step Up is actually good, but everything after it is just shit in shiny adidas clothes.
