Assassin’s Creed Pirates Is A Naval Battle Game For Smartphones And Tablets

Assassin’s Creed Pirates isn’t the Vita game we’re hoping for, instead taking the form of a naval battle game which allows you to build up your crew and “discover the truth that has kept the world guessing for centuries”.

It’ll only be available for smartphones and tablets – Android and iOS – and seems to share some similar traits to Sid Meier’s Pirates. There will be 20km of open seas to explore, and the game sees you battling other ships to collect XP and then upgrade your own ship and crew.

Pirates is a standalone game, rather than a companion to console title Black Flag. It’ll release later this year.

  1. Ooh, I loved Sid Meier’s Pirates! Will it be online or singleplayer? I’d prefer it to be single player, as long as they don’t plague it with IAP’s.

    • Just read the Polygon article, definitely sounds like a single player game, which is great.

  2. No dancing mini game :(
