Killzone Shadow Fall is one of the PS4’s big launch titles, but it won’t be supporting the console’s ability to play 3D games. No games currently support the feature, and the devs took to Twitter to confirm that their were no plans to include it.
@Rtgamerguy We currently don't have any plans for 3D support, but I'll pass your request along to the team.

The game will also not support the PlayStation Move, nor are there currently plans for a Free For All multiplayer mode. For those of you who are wanting local splitscreen don’t hold your breath as there are no plans for that either.

I believe Trine 2 has 3D support.

Is there co-op? I can’t remember. If my memory was working properly and I wasn’t too busy to do a google check, even though I’m not too busy to type this, I’d check myself.
I don’t really like 3D so it doesn’t bother me… plus, some games near enough look 3D anyway when they’re in native 1080p.

Isn’t co-op mode slated for the paid DLC, with the MP maps all being free?

Sounds familiar now you say it. Oh well, as long as I can change the controls so they’re the same as BF4 so I don’t get confused, I’ll give the multiplayer a go.

I hope they think about 3D for some later games as it also makes it easier for them to support split-screen multiplayer (performance wise they are more or less the same), almost all PS3 games with 3D support also has split screen support.

Doesn’t this tie in with the news that PS4 doesn’t support 3D BD play back? I thought that was news last week? Is it possible for a console to play 3D games without playing 3D BD movies?
Kennykazey
Well, it could be a codec licencing that’s keeping it from doing 3D films. But it seems like the system may lack the firmware support to do 3D at all. I don’t know if any games are confirmed to be 3D on it.
Starman
That tells you how much of a priority 3d is now.

3D will never catch on as long as
1 – you’re forced to buy and use additional accessories (I.e. Glasses)
2 – People make shoddy ports to jump on the bandwagon (e.g. In a movie context, clash of the titans)
I know cinema tickets are pricey as it is, I certainly won’t pay even more for a 3d film at the risk it’s a crappy post-production addition.
Call me when holographic tv’s are out …

Umm, Trine 2: Complete Story (Launch title) supports stereoscopic 3D on the PS4. So you can’t that that there are no games that support 3D at the moment!
Broonba
As I don’t have a 3D TV this news doesn’t worry me. Though it’s a bit shit if only a small percentage of games on PS4 are 3D supported for those that want them, and those that bought a 3D TV to play 3D games and movies.

Really disappointed with Guerrilla Games. Killzone 3 was in my opinion the best example of 3D (and Move for what it’s worth) on the PS3. Big let down.

Really?
I for one will not miss the 3D or Move support..
It’s good we have such diverse way of playing games and having preference..
For me 1080P and the new color schema is a win the lack off move support is a surprise for me too.
Not only for this game but as the Move is now sort of build in the controller you would think it would be more as a standard option.
stueeeee
Love the 3D games on ps3. Even though it was a novelty they looked really good. Killzone 3, ac3, uncharted 3, and ratchet a41 were the best one IMO.
Really disappointed that ps4 can’t do some of the features that were great to use on ps3.

It’s not that it can’t, Sony’s just not pushing it as a must have feature right now and encouraging first-party devs to support it. The PS4 is more capable of rendering for 3D than PS3 is. It may also be a factor that they didn’t have time to get the feature built into the game with the game needing to be ready for the console’s launch.

It puts a lot of strain on the console to output two separate images at 30fps at the same time and the graphical fidelity of KZ:SF already takes up most of the PS4’s ressources.
They would have had to cut back on resolution or graphics to support 3D and Killzone is one of the best showcases of next gen graphics. Surely Sony would rather have an awesome looking game than one that looks slightly better than KZ3 with 3D support.
