Killzone Mercenary Getting Free Multiplayer Maps And Patches

Guerrilla Cambridge, developer of Killzone Mercenary, has just released information about the updates the game will receive over the next few months, including patches and multiplayer maps. The list of updates and what they’ll each do is below.

Update Three – This is a patch that won’t affect gameplay but will reduce the space other patches take up, including reducing the combined size of the first two updates the game received by 800MB. Release is expected over the next few weeks.

Update Four – This patch has been created to tackle connectivity problems when trying to join multiplayer games, and will also improve matching. A team rebalancing feature will also be introduced. Release time is unknown.

Update Five –  This update will give players access to two more multiplayer maps free of charge.Offline  botzones will also be released for the Guerrilla Warfare and Mercenary modes.  Again, no concrete release date yet.

Update Six – The interesting one as this will patch in support for the Vita TV, which is unconfirmed for a Western release and will be region locked so only Japanese accounts will work on it.

Why mention this update on the US and EU blog if the Vita TV is unconfirmed for release in the West? Interesting to ponder.

  1. Excellent news, it’s a great game, one of my favourite shooters.

But the best bit is the size reduction patch- I haven’t heard of a developer doing this before, and it’s definitely a sign of a studio looking after the consumers.

To play devil’s advocate on the answer to the last update, it may be that they’re simply explaining the patch, as everyone would have to download it regardless. But yeah, more than likely Vita TV will be launched here eventually too.

  2. The space saving patch sound like something all games makers should start working on…

    • Yeah, it ain’t gonna take long to fill the 400+GB space, especially if your a PS+er.

  3. I platinumed this today at lunch time :)

As others have said, I’ll be grateful of the space saving – that’s enough room to allow for another PSN game on my memory card. The offline Botzone is also a great idea! Odd they are only adding two maps, but it’s still good they are adding some!

    • Well done, I’m on a platinum drought, it’s been too long.

My vita is currently being fixed the square button just don’t work anymore gutted.

      • Cheers mate. Oh that sucks, hope you get it back soon in time for PS4 matey!

  4. They may have mentioned it simply to inform people, so when the update comes out people will know what’s in it even though it’s one that’s pretty useless for them at the moment.

  5. They should also add if you are randomly picked as a host, you should be automatically aloud to balance the number of people playing on one side, example 3v1 so be able to move players to make it 2v2

  6. Loving the support for this. I’m struggling to clear the last level so botzone will be good for practice.
