Sony have revealed that subscriptions to its premium PlayStation Plus service have jumped 90% since the launch of the PlayStation 4.
The subscription is required if gamers want to play online titles on the new console, that probably explains the huge increase in subscribers who also get Resogun and as of today, Don’t Starve, for free.
It has also been revealed that PlayStation 4 broadcasts now account for 20% of all streams on Twitch, double the amount that was broadcasting in December.

That is a shocking news. I can’t believe that too be true. I don’t know what deal Sony gives to these companies but it must be making them a profit.

Tbh even if it wasn’t required for online play I’d still get it. The fact I get vita and ps4 games each month for £40 is a no brainer, hell I’d pay £40 for contrast and res0gun alone.

Plus is worth every penny. Yes we now have to pay for online multiplayer but everything else that comes with it for £40 makes it more than worthwhile. People would be silly not to subscribe!

I would like to add to all those saying plus is good value for £40 a year – I’ve never paid £40 for a subscription with £25 being my best find – however there is usually somewhere out there offering better than £40 and the fact you can accumulate the time is brilliant. Have about 18 months left:

Not surprising seeing as how you need Plus to play online on PS4. In saying that, it’s excellent value for money as you get a shitload of games for free. I’d happily pay upto £50 for Plus but sshhh don’t tell Sony. :p

ok, so it’s now required to play online on PS4, but at least they give you access to a ton of content for that sub.
if it was just for the online play, i probably wouldn’t pay for plus, even if i had a PS4, but i do pay for it for the content it gives me access to.
