It’s Monday morning and we’re all a bit rushed with work and life and trying not to vomit at the thought of another long week ahead of mind-numbing drudgery in the largely fruitless pursuit of a bearable existence among our fellow humans. So excuse this little bit of inconsequential curiosity in your news stream. I think this kind of thing is fascinating.
A prop maker has taken to his Facebook page to proclaim his excitement for upcoming PS4 exclusive, The Order: 1886. He’s cast his discerning eye over the large renders of some weaponry from the game (courtesy of GameInformer) and has decided that the Combo Rifle would help complete a great cosplay he’s planning for the end of summer. He’s also quite enamoured with the grenade and communicator.
So, he’s turning his considerable talents towards creating replicas of the items and, to that end, he’s made a couple of blueprints.
Hopefully we’ll get further updates as the project rolls along – I’ve followed a couple of detailed prop builds in the past and it really is an amazing process requiring the utmost skill, plenty of experience and expert knowledge of materials. It’s a fascinating process to watch develop.

Mr Landstalker is hugely skilled with his prop making. If you havn’t seen it, make sure to check out the replica of Garrett’s bow he made from the Thief series.

He does make some epic stuff, it’s true. Any props you fancy for a cosplay, it’s well worth contacting him. My favourites are between his portal gun and plasma cutter, so hard to choose.

Not at all, in fact many devs / publishers encourage it as it helps to positively advertise the game in question. For example when Square found out he was making the bow from the upcoming game Thief they were thrilled and asked to interview him.
