Killzone 2 Revisited In Mercenary’s New Map Pack Which Is Out Tomorrow

Guerrilla Cambridge has announced two new maps for Killzone Mercenary’s multiplayer, and if you’ve played Killzone 2 these will seem very familiar to you.

First up is Tharsis Depot which is an underground map set around the Petrusite conversion platform, and apparently best suited for Warzone matches. The second map is Blood Gracht based in the ruined city of Pyrrhus with buildings and alleyways providing the setting for a bloodbath. Blood Gracht is suited for any game mode to be played upon it.

The maps will be free to download and are expected to be available from tomorrow, February 19th, at midday. The update by itself isn’t that big coming in at 167MB. However, if you haven’t downloaded Killzone Mercenary’s previous updates then you’ll need 526MB worth of space on your Vita’s memory card.

I think I’ll check these maps out after not having played Mercenary for a while, because I did enjoy what little I played of Killzone 2’s multiplayer.

  1. Oh my word, this is amazing news. Loved Mercenary and loved those maps on KZ2! Great fan service.

  2. Great news! I’ve only been playing the game for a few hours but so far I’m very impressed, it’s an outstanding example of what a handheld console can be capable of.

  3. Looking forward to these, love KZ:M

  4. Brilliant, gotta give them a go. Loved Killzone 2.

  5. Wow..! Absolutely excellent news making the day for the gamer in me..! Been playing these for hours and hours ages ago, love to revisit them, especially as KZ:M is so damn good. And a little glimpse of hope that, knowing these maps, I might not suck as much as I currently do in Mercenary multiplayer… ;o)

  6. Not everyone plays MP. Story based DLC please Guerrilla!

I love KZ:M and need a reason to go back for the 10,000 kills trophy. (Done everything on vet, got all other SP trophies inc. $1M spend, and still only halfway there!)

    • Offline Botzone is supposed to be in this update too from what I’ve read elsewhere.

    • Online is actually really good. If you can play online, I recommend you do.
And I am generally not a fan of online gaming.

But agreed more single player content would be nice (ill even pay for it)

  7. KZ:M multiplayer is great fun, but I was getting a bit bored with the few maps in Warzone. Fantastic news :D
