Konami Release Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Comparison Video

It’s usually up to us to make comparison videos, but it seems as though Konami are effectively cutting out the middle man and have released a video, which you can see below, showing the differences between all four versions of the game.

Naturally, the PS4 and Xbox One versions look better than their last generation counterparts, with enhanced lighting effects and better environments, and you can really see the difference in some of the textures when compared directly.

But here’s the thing: the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game still look good. Really good. They all seem to play quite smoothly, though of course the 60fps frame rate of the new generation versions shall be a deciding factor there, and the 1080p resolution of the PS4 version should be good for showing off the large, high resolution textures.

What do you think?

  1. The difference between the PS3 and PS4 can be noticed, but I cannot say the same about the the X360 and XOne versions :/ This video will be the next big nightmare for some people in Redmond.
Still, the PS3 version looks great :D

    • Yeah I thought that too. Xbox One version just didn’t strike me as being obviously next gen unlike the PS4 version.

  2. Why are there no clouds on PS4?

  3. There really seems to be no difference to me. Not enough anyway. Feel strangely let down and possibly wouldn’t buy this for PS4 as it’ll be cheap in a month for PS3.

    • Are you serious? The difference is staggering. Try downloading the 60fps high def (158mb) version of this video that is kicking around teh webz.

  4. I suspect Sony sent a bit of money Kojima’s way.

    • Why would they do that, Kojima has always been a fan of playstation. He wants more people to play MGS but I’m sure if it was up to him it would be exclusive

  5. Keep in mind that YouTube doesn’t support 60 frames per second or not that I’m aware of.

  6. I still can’t get over how stunning the last gen versions look, they’re absolutely beautiful!! I’m massively confused, do I wait to get an MGS V package with a PS4 or dive in with an incredible PS3 version? I just don’t know.

  7. What impressed me most is just how scalable Fox Engine appears to be. Previous gen gamers look like they’ll still have an amazing experience.

  8. All versions look pretty good, with some obvious differences between last and current-gen but the difference between XB1 and PS4 isn’t as apparent. I can’t see anyone complaining no matter which version they get.
