Guacamelee! Special Edition Coming To Next Gen Consoles

Carlos Calaca is due another kicking.

When someone I know gets a new Vita and they ask what games they should be looking at first, I always say “Mutant Blobs and Guacamelee!” Drinkbox has delivered two of the best games – in very different styles – available for the platform.

But Guacamelee! was available on PS3 too, and just as enjoyable on a big screen as it was on the handheld. So the news that Drinkbox is bringing its luchadorian adventure to the newer consoles is quite exciting. The Guacamelee! Gold Edition, already available on Steam, features the base game and all the subsequent DLC. This new version of the game is called Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and it will have all the DLC and some new bosses, levels and abilities.

It’s coming to PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and Xbox 360 as a download, with no firm date just yet. IGN seems to have the only trailer on YouTube for it:

Nice little dig at all the versions of Street Fighter II there. I like it.

One of my favourite Vita games. Already completed it twice though, so not sure I would play it all again even with the additional content as great as it is.

One of my favourite games ever! Always sing it’s praises and recommend it to people.

Can’t wait to play it again on PS4!

Yeah, it’s amazing. Definitely the absolute best game on the Vita in my opinion.

Is sitting on two of my consoles already for a while, you just convinced me to try this soon. But, if it’ll be cross-buy, I’d rather wait…

    Yawn…. Again!

Not saying all these games aren’t good. I’m just getting bored of all these PS4 re-releases.

Been a while since I finished my play through on the vita, be happy to run through again in a PS4 and a big screen.
