Today’s PvZ: Garden Warfare DLC Adds A Little More Garden Variety

True to their word, Popcap are bringing the first bundle of extra content to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and it’s going to be free when it arrives later today.

It’s the first step to increasing the amount of content in the game, which I felt was fairly small at the time of release of this quirky PvZ themed take on modern action shooters. For want of a better term, it just wanted a bit more variety in terms of maps and modes, and if the name’s anything to go by, this game pack should do the trick.

Included in the pack is a new game mode, Gnome Bomb, which will ape Battlefield 4’s Obliteration mode with the two teams of eight fighting over a single bomb and trying to deliver it to three enemy locations. Gnome Bomb will play out on Team Vanquish maps, and this pack adds to that particular collection with Chomp Town bringing a more metropolitan vibe, with restaurants and shops giving the battlefield multiple layers to the action.

There’s also over a hundred of new customisation items and three additional abilities for each class, including the Chomper’s Super Goop which cements zombies in place and the All-Star Zombie’s Ultra Tackle.

It’s a good start, just a few weeks after the game’s launch, so here’s hoping that Popcap can keep similar updates coming thick and fast.
