Earlier today a listing appeared for what appeared to be a Metro collection for PS4 and Xbox One titled Metro Redux. Now 4A Games has commented on this latest leak instead of keeping quiet, and in doing so have confirmed the existence of the collection with a statement posted on the game’s website.
“We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumour and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write. So we’re going to comment on rumour and speculation instead. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware. But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.
As you can see, we’re not quite ready to reveal 4A Games’ first next-gen console project, but we will be making an announcement this side of E3.And we think the reality is a lot more exciting than the out-dated material that got leaked shows, and we’re itching to share it with you. Just not yet.”
The leaked images themselves are from an out of date presentation with some made up facts though there are some nuggets of truth apparently. I am looking forward to seeing how the Metro series takes advantage of the new hardware, because I really enjoyed Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. If you haven’t had a chance to play them I strongly recommend them myself.

I loved the atmosphere in 2033 but never got around to completing it as I found it really hard and soon lost interest. It’s definitely one of those games I want to go back to though, and then play Last Light.

Just ordered a PS3 to replace the one i sold to fund some PS4 games! Looking forward to working my way through Last Light. I’m soooo curious as to what the ‘reality is a lot more exciting’ relates to.
