PlayStation Store Update: 16/04/14 – Trials Fusion, FIFA World Cup & Sly Trilogy Vita

Trials! Trials is on a PlayStation! The brutally difficult motorcycle physics platforming game has finally made the jump to the PlayStation 4, releasing today on PSN for £15.99/€19.99. There’s also a season pass which will set you back a further £15.99/€19.99, and which is included in the retail release which is coming on Friday. If you’re not convinced, just check out Peter’s review.

From extreme tests of dexterity to tests of your mental capacity, Pure Chess has also arrived on the PS4, looking lovelier than ever and set to cost £6.29/€7.99. There’s also a whole host of DLC skins for the game that can be bought separately or as a bundle alongside the game for £10.25/€11.99, though PS+ members get a 20% discount on the bundle and DLC.

Rounding things out for the PS4, the last few days saw Final Fantasy XIV go live for those that didn’t decide to pre-order the game. You can buy it separately for £29.99/€34.99 on the store, as a £44.99/€49.99 digital collector’s edition, or just upgrade from the PS3 version for free. There’s also the public release of Battlefield 4’s Naval Strike DLC, which is no longer exclusive to Premium subscribers, but will cost you £11.99 whether on PS4 or PS3.

It’s a largely unexciting week on PS3 which sees FIFA World Cup 2014 tie in with this year’s real world tournament later this week for the amusing price of £49.99/€69.99, while SingOn arrives as a plucky contender to Singstar’s crown, as a free download and with 10 free songs to get you started and time passes to the wider catalogue after that.

There’s also digital releases of Resistance FOM and Resistance 2, both for £10.99/€14.99, though their online services have long since been turned off, and last year’s poorly received Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows gets a Trial & Unlock appearance for £11.99/€14.99.

There’s a lot more fun to be had on the PS Vita, though it’s not new games that you’ll be enjoying. Dead Nation appears on the plucky little handheld, as a Cross-Buy title to the original PS3 release (NOT the PS4 release) which many of you will have from the PSN outage’s Welcome Back pack or the first time the game appeared on PS+, back in 2011. If you don’t have it already, then it’s £6.49/€7.99 on its own, or £7.99/€9.99 with the Road of Devastation DLC bundled in. That DLC is £3.19/€3.99 separately.

Meanwhile, Sly Cooper sneaks back onto the Vita, as The Sly Trilogy has been ported across, which Aran was very impressed by. The whole package will cost £19.99/€24.99, with each game – 1, 2, 3 – available separately for £7.99/€9.99, but we’re also lucky enough for this to be a PS3/PS Vita Cross-Buy title, so if you’ve picked it up on PS3 before you’ve got this for free!

Psst! A little birdie in the PS blog comments says that the trilogy is €19.99 on PS3, so if you’re paying in Euros, you should get that version.

Ethan Meteor Hunter comes as a cross-buy title between PS3 and PS Vita for £7.99/€9.99, while Putty Squad makes its way onto the handheld for £19.99/€24.99

No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either! sees the Badman series of games continue, transforming itself into a canny match 3 style game, that also happens to be free to play. It’d be rude not to play it.

Rounding things out this week, we have the conclusion of the LittleBigPlanet DC Season Pass, as the PS Vita DC DLC is released. You can get them in that season pass still, or it’s £4.79/€5.99 for just the Vita pack. There’s also the £1.99/€2.49 Botzone DLC for Killzone: Mercenary, so that you can get some first person shooting in when you’re without WiFi.

That seems to be everything this week, but as per usual I’ll return to this post once the EU PS Blog has gone live and update anything that is missing.

Update: Added EU prices and a few other details. Additional links coming any second now…

  1. I noticed some free content for both Trials and Warframe got added exclusively for those with PS Plus (on PS4 this is, obviously). I grabbed the Trials content – which was a bike and helmet – and tried to get the Warframe content (which was a PS+ Starter pack, including platinum, currency, upgrades etc) but then it kept coming up with errors and it still won’t let me download it :/
