News Snatch: BioShock, Watch Dogs And Bruce Lee

A rather short Snatch today, partly because there is no news but mostly because of the sunshine and a bottle of 2003 vintage Dom Perignon that has my name on it for the rest of the afternoon. On to the bobbins then, starting with Bruce Lee who is making a guest appearance in the new EA Sports UFC game.

Despite Ken Levine shutting down Irrational Games, the Bioshock franchise will live on. “BioShock has sold over 5 million units. Today, the franchise is in hands of 2K. More to come in the future,” said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take Two.

An amusing glitch in Grand Theft Auto V has been discovered, where if you ram jet planes with a certain car they will take off, and in some circumstances chase you round the map!

Telltale Games are working on Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Borderlands “and one other thing I can’t talk about.” What could it be?

Some new screens from PS Vita exclusive, Freedom Wars.

Weapons in the game include swords, rifles and machine guns, but the most unique weapon is the “Thorn” that is wrapped around the player’s arm. This can be used to retrieve accessories, hook on to enemies or walls, move vertically, travel quickly by pulling the character to where the thorn has been attached, tie down Abductors and probably whisk omelettes as well.

Flappy Bird is to return with multiplayer and will be tweaked to be “less addictive”.

Borderlands 2 on Vita is getting a patch, although what it does has not been revealed.

Ubisoft Pre-Orders For Watch Dogs Smash Records

Watch Dogs is the most pre-ordered new IP in Ubisoft’s history! Is this because A) It’s a good game everyone is excited about it or B) It was announced TWO YEARS AGO and you have been able to pre-order it since then, most games get a year’s pre-order at best.

MMOs and Free-To-Play Games Still Require Xbox Live Gold
Yes they do, but Microsoft never said this was going to change and you have cleverly noted by the use of the world “still” in your headline. Obviously this is a new brand of news reporting in which journos can write stories about things that stay exactly as they were. Stay tuned for my exclusive report, “InFamous Second Son Star Continues To Wear Silly Hat.”

Aww, Notch loves Vita!

And Finally, Realistic Mario meets Realistic Yoshi. That’s your lot, get out in the sunshine before it vanishes, tata!

  1. No mention of the just recently announced Halo 5: Guardians?

  2. Good snatch today TC. It would be too easy to let it expand quite quickly, but you’ve kept it tight, I like it.

  3. I would say they should just kill off Bioshock now. But they won’t, well known name = easy money. I wonder if Bioshock Vita will ever happen.
