Square Enix has announced that its Dragon Quest MMO will launch for the 3DS later this year. The subscription-based title will make its way to the Nintendo handheld on September 4th, granting new players an introductory 60 days of game time.
Dragon Quest X is a huge game, as is any MMORPG, which begs the question: how will Square manage to fit it on the 3DS? The answer is online streaming, a feature also supported by the Android version. Though it will receive enhanced visuals, 3DS users will not be able to use the platform’s stereoscopic 3D while in play.
It’s also worth mentioning that those playing on the 3DS will be able to hook up with any Dragon Quest X player, whether they be on Wii, Wii U, PC, or Android.
Sadly, the game has yet to release overseas.
