PSN Appears To Be Down On PS4 With NW-31201-7 Error [UPDATED]

PlayStation Network hasn’t been very stable recently, with it being the target of a DDoS attack a day before it was to undergo scheduled maintenance, and then going through with that maintenance last week.

And now, the dreaded NW-31201-7 error has shown up for those signing into PS4, which means that the servers may be unavailable. This doesn’t appear to be the case on PS3, however, as users are able to sign in there.

Let’s hope this isn’t another attack and Sony are able to restore service to the network soon. We’ll keep you updated, and you can keep an eye on the PSN Status Page (which currently says that it’s online, despite it clearly being offline).

UPDATE: Although sign-in on PS3 and PS Vita appear to be fine, it now says that PSN is currently undergoing maintenance on PS4.

UPDATE 2: Sony are aware of the issues and are attempting to resolve them.

UPDATE 3: Everything appears to be working and in order. Carry on.

  1. So while it seemed to be working fine earlier (apart from the web store), the whole bloody thing’s died now.

It’s not even managing to successfully give me any error message (I say message, it’s more like a completely unhelpful number). It just sits there whenever it tries to connect.

  2. Hmm strange.. I know I can’t access my library or download anything but I haven’t had any trouble signing in or out. I’ve been playing minecraft for hours now with no trouble.
I realllllllllly hope sony increase the servers. I’m tired of this next gen console not being able to load friends half the time. *sigh*

  3. Right my downloads and library have just started working again so might be fine for u guys now. I’m in uk tho

  4. Not sure if this helps or i made it through (ah memories of aol) but i was signed in all games apps etc locked for lack of verification. I re certified that stuff ( settings psn) logged out logged in onlineline now all fine for now.

  5. Great stuff, switched over to watch some tv and when i returned to PS4 it had downloaded and installed.
