News Snatch: Styx: Master of Shadows, LA Cops & Face Scanning In NBA 2K15

Well hello there, welcome to the annual Jet Lag edition of News Snatch, in which I have even less idea what what I am talking about than usual because it’s 4am in the morning for me and I have not been paying attention to anything game related for the last two weeks.

We begin with the “Forza Horizon challenge thing” (that’s what Matt called it in the TSA back end) which seems to be Microsoft’s version of Top Gear but without the annoying presenters.

Need for Speed Rivals Complete Edition races to the streets on October 21, as per usual it’s the main game plus all the DLC which is as follows:

The Ferrari Edition Special Complete Pack, the Simply Jaguar Complete Pack, the Concept Lamborghini Complete Pack, the Koenigsegg Agera One, the Complete Movie Pack and the Loaded Garage Pack, which I amusingly misread as the “The Load of Garbage Pack.”

Now a musical interlude, the divine Miss Shirley Bassey singing about Duke Nukem who, once again, has been delayed. This time it is Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition for PS Vita that has problems.

A launch trailer for KickBeat – Special Edition which is coming to PS4. Or maybe on PS4 already, I’m not sure, I did say I have not been paying attention.

Not news as such, we were not expecting anything Assassin’s Creed on Vita, but sad times anyway.

In other Assassin’s news, the AC movie has been delayed until 2016 “due to script rewrites and scheduling issues during production.”

Styx: Master of Shadows has got a new gameplay trailer ahead of it’s launch on PS4 and Xbox One next month for the tempting price of £24.99.

Bravo to the writer at the Independent who noted that not a single woman could be seen at the Apple iPhone 6 launch in Covent Garden and it was “a veritable sausage party.”

“One thing is for certain: Apple is absolutely nailing the ‘guy wearing inoffensive navy t-shirt and wrist watch’ demographic,” they add, also noting that “the new operating system already proving more popular than God.”

lacops
LA Cops is a rad action game with a tactical aspect that sees you cleaning up the mean streets of 70s LA one action packed shootout at a time. That’s what Team 17 say, and they know more about the game than me as they are publishing it.

LA Cops is currently available in Steam Early Access for just £8.99/$11.99/€9,99  and will be coming soon to console and PC as a full release.

Scan your face in to NBA 2K15 to save the NSA the trouble of illegally accessing your Kinect.

Things That Are Closing #1: The Rock Band Network is to shut it’s doors after it “has been plagued with technical issues,” some of which were at Harmonix, others were “entirely outside of our control.”

Things That Are Closing #2: Game Stop is leaving the Spanish market with UK competitor GAME taking ownership of an undisclosed number of the stores.

A live action thing for Shadow Of Mordor in which Krimp the Orc has a very bad day. Bet he hasn’t got 12 hour jet lag, has he? No. He’s having a good day then.

20 minutes of the newly spruced up Hellraid, complete with commentary and horrendous curtains.

And Finally, this rather awesome PC mod for Resident Evil 4 replaces Leon and Ashley with Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us.

  1. Annoyed to hear about duke nukem 3D on vita. I actually emailed devolver digital about the game two months ago they said it was going through certification. When will I be ever able to kick ass and chew bubble gum with my vita?

  2. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say “you might have jet lag”,just a guess mind.:)
