Clear Some Hard Drive Space, The Evil Within Wants 40-50 GB

The Evil Within will take up 40GB of space on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the older consoles getting away with just 7GB.

PC gamers will have to clear the most space with game taking a whopping 50GB of hard drive space and they also requires some pretty hefty specs including 4GB of VRAM.

  • 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
  • Core i7 with four plus cores
  • 4 GBs RAM
  • 50 GB of hard drive space
  • GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
  • High Speed Internet Connection
  • Steam account and activation

The game has recently gone gold and is set for release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 14th.

I had a chance to play it yesterday at EGX and it was slightly underwhelming. You may have also spotted our not-so-mystery guest wearing the safe from the game during TSA Live, during which we briefly discuss the game.

  1. So, basically the entire game gets installed to the HDD on PS4? They haven’t bothered to develop any form of dynamic streaming of areas, textures and enemies? Lazy.

    • Highly doubtful (although I see why you would say that as the PC version weighs in at 50).

Quite a few PS4 games require this much space (Destiny, Killzone, a couple of others I can’t think if right now), so this seems pretty much the norm to me.

  2. Dear Santa,

Can I have a 2TB hard drive for my PS4 please?

    Sincerely,

    Colm
