Blimey, is it 9 pm? Must be time for another statement from Ubisoft regarding the resolution of Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Final specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity aren’t cemented yet, but we can say we showed Assassin’s Creed Unity at 900p during our hands-on preview event last week. We’re confident that gamers will be thrilled with the gorgeous graphics and how Paris is brought to life in Assassin’s Creed Unity.
The development team has been hard at work delivering the best Assassin’s Creed possible on next generation consoles. Regardless of which platform you’re playing on, Assassin’s Creed Unity will answer what an Assassin’s Creed game built from the ground up for the next generation of gaming looks like and will be the best looking Assassin’s Creed game ever developed.
So final specs have yet to be set, perhaps someone should have told Senior producer Vincent Pontbriand that and then we would not have had this kerfuffle. Vincent, you will recall, was the chap who said the game was locked to 900p “to avoid all the debates and stuff”.
That worked out well, didn’t it?

No matter what happens, I promise you that Vincent will be working in a basement somewhere WITHOUT internet from here on in.
GTOWN
There’s no room in your basement and mine is filling up pretty quick. Maybe TC has room now EGX has finished.
GTOWN
Round and round and round they go.
Where they stop?
Only Ubisoft know.
They’ll being suing Sony for whiplash if they keep turning at this speed.
Good news though. Until The Division farce begins…

So, as it looks like the exclusive marketing rights (except possibly for some fake perfume?) are going to MS, and there’s no PS4 exclusive content, can we just assume the following happened or is going to happen…
1. MS give bring out the moneyhat to pay for marketing rights.
2. MS point out “it’d be a shame if we had to take the money away because it doesn’t look as good on our underpowered hardware”.
3. Internet makes a big fuss.
4. Ubisoft say “Well, it’s not fixed, but with the game a few weeks away, it’s too late to do anything”
5. Reviews appear, looks same on both consoles, MS is happy.
6. Update sneaks out to do 1080p, PS4 owners are happy.
7. Everyone forgets all about it until next year when “Assassin’s Creed: Paris cost too much to model!” appears, reusing Paris, but now with exciting naval battles. And women. And a new competitive multiplayer mode. All at 900p on both consoles. And MS pay for exclusive DLC (new hats) in a desperate attempt to try and sell more XBones.
8. Internet makes a big fuss.
9. ???
10. Profit.
JR.
I think you pretty much have it figured. This will be the first major AC release I haven’t bought on day one.

It’s scary how you’re taking the mickey yet it will likely be very close to the truth.
Starman
Or – the PS4 cpu just isn’t powerful enough like he said. But that doesn’t go with the “its all ms fault” theory does it…
Kennykazey
The real number of worry should be the install-size. *shudders*

I bet they wished they had made the PS4 version better now rather than this balls up of a mess.Rule No’1:Think before you speak.
pdannysan13
The PR sandstorm hits once again Ubisoft. I don’t think it’s even Vincent’s fault. He was told what to say. Then the internet happened.
Starman
I think soon devs will be afraid to speak to the media unless they are giving every bit of info possible on the game. Way too many overreacting. Cancelling preorders ffs.
wonkey-willy
I think the devs should realize that sony and ps4 are the the new kids on the block. Take a step back and realise that microsoft are no longer a force to be recognised and are hiding behind the sofa waving a white flag and a fistfull of dollars. Surely the fans are where the money is? If you keep pissing off the ps community they are just not going to buy your games. Then you are relying on a handful of xbox owners for support.

This is yet again that evil Microsoft scum throwing there money around. If activision do this with cod I will not be happy. Dylan

Who needs soaps on TV? The games industry is far more entertaining as late.
I need to know what the resolution is now! It’s like being left on a cliffhanger episode of Breaking Bad. :)

I’ve just realised that this is why I’m addicted to tapping refresh on the TSA homepage! I feel like the joy of F5 Thursdays has just returned to my soul!
double-o-dave
It used to be just whilst I was sat at my desk at work in-between jobs, but I found myself sat in the pub last night refreshing the TSA page on my phone instead of leering at fit girls walking in. I think I’ve got a problem.
ron_mcphatty
Nah I wouldn’t worry, you were probably only temporarily cured of being a pervert, it won’t last long your love of boobs will come back!
