Christmas is only a matter of days away now, and that means this year’s Winter Steam Sale has kicked off. So far the damage for my wallet has only been a few quid for FSX, a game that I’ve already put a few thousand hours into over the years, so I know it’s worth every penny.
Are there any games you’ve picked up, or any in particular you’re hoping to see? Or maybe you’ve got some on a list you’re hoping Santa will bring you on Thursday? Let me know in the comments below, as we begin this week’s Community Round-Up!

It’s likely that there will be disruption to the Meets this week, but if we’re lucky we’ll be seeing the usual GT5, Battlefield and Red Dead meets.
If you want to play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.

As you can probably guess, it was a pretty quiet week for the Reviews and Previews. Blair gave an 8/10 to Game of Thrones: Episode One – Iron From Ice, the first installment from Telltale’s new episodic series. Meanwhile, Teflon had a look at Destiny’s The Dark Below DLC, although he wasn’t wholly impressed by the changes Bungie are making.
Moving over to the Previews, there was a look at the free-2-play entry Total War: Arena, whereby 20 players battle in two teams, and a preview/interview with the Associate Producer of Magicka 2, in which Tef talked about its blend of humour and explosive gameplay.
Lastly, Turtle Rock opened up about Evolve, detailing the monsters, hunters and modes you can expect to play with your buddies when it arrives next year, as Tuffcub went hands on with Coming Out On Top.
From the blogs, Guest writer Ewan Moore explored the consequences of Sony’s recent hack and the possibility of a new Mario movie, while in the Chronicle, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Uncharted 4 and once again Drive Club appeared in hot topics.
This week saw a number of the end-of year features begin. Our review of the year on a month-by-month basis has looked back at the games we were playing many months ago, and of course, discussion about weather we experienced back then.
TSA’s Game of the Year categories have seen winners including Mario Kart 8, FIFA 15, Child of Light and Dragon Age Inquisition, I’m sure there will be ones that you agree and don’t agree with, but 2014 has seen some close competition and some hard decisions had to be made. Oh, and don’t forget to vote in the TSA Community GOTY!
Finishing off, we looked ahead to 2015 with Ones to Watch, glancing so far at Multiplatform games (parts 1, 2, and 3) and also the Indie games we’re looking forward to in parts 1 and 2.

It’s great to see the Forums are looking busier than usual, so let’s dive in!
- Bigchrissyc wants to know your Top 10 PS1 games.
- What’s with all these game reissues? asks fillip2k.
- And psdannysan13 needs help choosing what to clear out from his backlog.
That’s it for this week’s Round Up, and for 2014 in fact. I hope you have a merry christmas, and I’ll see you in the new year! Bye!
